TNA Impact! Wrestling: Hulk Hogan Returns and Makes a Shocking Announcement

Posted by Daniel Peragine On August - 29 - 2013
The Thursday, August 29 edition of TNA Impact! Wrestling, which aired live from Cleveland, opened with World Heavyweight champion Bully Ray and the rest of the Aces & Eights group walking towards the ring. Ray took control of the microphone and began to question the rest of the Aces & Eights members on why Devon took the fall and got kicked out of TNA Wrestling last week. The World Heavyweight champion suddenly changed his mind on Devon and talked about his various disappointments. Ray turned his attention to Tito Ortiz and offered him a spot in the Aces & Eights. After Mr. ...

WWE Stock Watch

A new WWE champion, a new corporate faction and a new face of WWE have emerged. We've seen Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow split up as a team and begin feuding. The Prime Time Players are now seeing consistent television time and wins. Meanwhile, Sin Cara has made wrestling news once again for something unpopular, and Mark Henry's terrific heel work seems so long ago. All of this change means it's time for Big Nasty and me to do a stock evaluation in WWE. Breaking Down How the 3rd Hour of Raw Has Helped Improve WWE’s Product

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On August - 29 - 2013
When WWE decided to expand Raw to three hours on the 1000th episode of Raw, the first thought that ran through the collective hive-mind of the Internet Wrestling Community was "Great! This is going to be WCW Nitro all over again." Not only did the third hour of Raw not hurt the product, but it actually helped to make things better. For those of you who don't know, or weren't old enough to remember, WCW Nitro was the show that put WWE Raw in second place in a two-horse race for over a year and a half. A two-hour Nitro was what ...
Randy Orton's snakelike attack on Daniel Bryan will reverberate for a long time to come. Orton punctuated the biggest moment of the summer via a surprise pedigree from Triple H and his recently won Money in the Bank contract. That moment may not have the novelty of the first-ever cash-in or the magnitude of the face of ECW overcoming the face of WWE, but it ranks highly on the all-time most exciting Money in the Bank cash-ins. What it lacked in shock value, it made up for in emotional power. Bryan had just knocked off WWE's biggest star with an indisputable, clean victory. ...

Examining the Likelihood of a WWE Return for Hulk Hogan

Posted by Justin LaBar On August - 29 - 2013
There's always a way to build a new bridge, because the WWE money is on the other side.Hulk Hogan's contract with TNA Impact wrestling is reported to be expiring sometime in the next few months. Hogan has helped TNA's visibility to the world. His name is still recognizable. However, he hasn't, nor can he make them a viable competitor to WWE. No one person can, especially in the current structure of the company.I think reuniting business relations with WWE has a high probability. The days of the Hogan name being printed on TMZ continues to get further away and that ...

Power Ranking Every WWE Championship Design of the Last 25 Years

Posted by David Bixenspan On August - 29 - 2013
Wrestling fans tend to get passionate about belt designs.  Unlike the more generic belts that tend to populate boxing and mixed martial arts, wrestling title belts have intricate, memorable designs that are burned into our minds.  This has led to an explosion in the market of collectible replica belts and even fans buying ring-ready, professional quality belts. Being the highest profile belt in the business, the WWE Championship is the subject of the most scrutiny, so let's take a look at how all of the different designs stack up. Some notes before we get started.  For the sake of simplifying everything, minor ...
A demon rides along the WWE horizon, and it now has a name—Solomon Crowe. The man formerly known as Sami Callihan signed a WWE developmental deal in May, and fresh off getting a new moniker, he is set to bring his unique brand of dark energy to NXT. With wild, dark hair jutting off his head and a scowl across his mouth, it's hard not to take notice of Crowe right away. He joins a NXT roster already stocked with dark characters like Leo Kruger and Corey Graves. Expect him not to be lost among the other prospects but to make an impact ...

WWE SmackDown: Spoiler-Free Preview for Aug. 30

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On August - 29 - 2013
Friday's WWE SmackDown follows a Raw that saw a tyrant exert his power, an Escalade get vandalized and The Shield become Triple H's official guard dogs. The aftershocks of those stories will be felt this Friday. WWE taped the show on Tuesday in Las Vegas, Nevada and fans who have managed to avoid spoilers have some surprises waiting for them. How will Randy Orton react to his Escalade being redesigned? Will The Shield continue to be for Triple H what the pit monster was for Jabba the Hutt? With the results left off, here are the matches fans can expect to devour on ...

Top Babyface Roster Will Recover from Injuries and Heel Turns

Posted by Bill Atkinson On August - 29 - 2013
With two of WWE’s top babyfaces out for months with injuries and two others recently completing heel turns, one cannot help but think that the company’s good-guy roster might be looking a little depleted these days. Depleted, yes. Devastated, no. The next few months bring opportunities for these faces to step out of the shadows normally cast by those stars and prove to the fans—and the WWE booking team—that they are worthy of performing at star levels normally reserved for guys like John Cena and Sheamus. Both Cena, nursing a bad arm, and Sheamus, with a banged-up shoulder, have undergone surgeries and ...

Report: WWE Not Interested in TNA Star A.J. Styles

Posted by Sharon Glencross On August - 29 - 2013
It looks like there's some bad news for fans hopeful of seeing A.J. Styles in a WWE ring anytime soon. As PWInsider discussed last week, Styles' contract with TNA is expiring in the next few weeks and it's far from assured that he will re-sign. Per PWInsider, the main factor is money. Inevitably, talk has turned to whether a WWE deal could potentially be in Styles' future. Certainly, you wouldn't blame the 36-year-old for looking elsewhere right now. America's No. 2 wrestling promotion is in a state of major disarray right now. Wrestlers are being cut left and right as the company attempts to ...
