WWE Raw: Potential Spoilers, Rumors, News and Preview for May 26

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On May - 26 - 2014
An injured champion and the home stretch toward Payback highlight the May 26 edition of WWE Raw. Uncertainty surrounds Daniel Bryan and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Stephanie McMahon considered stripping him of the title on last week's show but wanted the warrior recovering from neck surgery to give it up himself. Will this be the night Bryan's third WWE title reign ends? Knoxville, Tennessee, hosts the Memorial Day edition of Raw that will build toward the pay-per-view and provide answers, definitive or otherwise, about what happens to Bryan's championship. Neither Kane nor Big Show have been around much lately, but both are scheduled to ...
Payback is a show that promises much in the way of excitement, and the onus is on the WWE to deliver a third successful show in a row. After the overwhelming success of WrestleMania XXX and the impressive showing at Extreme Rules, Payback could make it a trio of excellent pay-per-view shows, as the card looks to be in decent shape. However, a pay-per-view can never be regarded as a success unless there are some bold moves from WWE Creative to keep fans on their toes. Whether it is a turn that takes the fans completely by surprise or a match that simply ...

Ric Flair Will Not Be Effective as a WWE Manager

Posted by Alfred Konuwa On May - 26 - 2014
The trailer for Paul Heyman's forthcoming DVD was recently released on WWE's YouTube channel. The DVD is chock-full of superlatives describing Paul Heyman, who is called everything from a liar to a "mad scientist." Vince McMahon himself is heard in the opening seconds announcing Heyman as "one of the most ingenious and manipulative minds in the history of this business!"  Heyman's tumultuous career will play out on what should be one of the most candid and poignant DVDs WWE has released since CM Punk's well-received Best in the World biography.  In a mere one-minute trailer, a titanic pillar of pro wrestling comes to life. It's ...

WWE Power Rankings for 5/26/2014: Pre-Payback Edition

Posted by Alex Musso On May - 26 - 2014
With Payback less than a week away, there are still a lot of questions that need answering.  So far, there are only four announced matches: Rob Van Dam vs. Bad News Barrett for the Intercontinental Championship, John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt in a Last Man Standing match, Evolution vs. The Shield in a No Holds Barred Six-Man Elimination Tag Team match and, most recently, Cesaro vs. Sheamus for the United States Championship.   That's only about half the matches we can expect to see, so this week surely promises to be eventful as more bouts are added to the card. Will ...
Bray Wyatt’s ascension to the top of the WWE isn’t all that surprising, especially for those who read the dirt sheets. After the revamped Husky Harris debuted last summer, reports immediately circulated that getting Bray Wyatt over was a priority of Vince McMahon’s (F4WNewsletter). At first it looked like misinformation, as The Wyatt’s feuds with Kane and The Miz didn’t position them particularly strongly, but things picked up when he started programs with CM Punk and Daniel Bryan back in October. Fast forward a few months, the Eater of Worlds steamrollered through the company’s hottest star, Bryan, at the Royal Rumble, which proved ...
It's August of 2013 in the NXT Arena at Full Sail University. The ring announcer proclaims Tyler Breeze, a male model character who quickly became popular with the tiny but amiable live crowd, has left the building. The announcement draws cheers but the cheers only grow with the sound of stock techno music, bringing the entire arena to its feet.  Fans are seen dancing, rhythmically pointing their hands to the sky, as purple lights are cued up and a bubble machine blasts tiny bubbles near the stage.  "The Emmalution is upon us," lead commentator Tom Phillips deadpans as NXT's then-rising star dances up ...
One of the biggest talking points in professional wrestling right now is the state of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Since Daniel Bryan announced that he would be forced to take time off due to a neck injury, uncertainty has surrounded his fledgling title reign. On the May 19 episode of Raw, Stephanie McMahon issued an ultimatum to Bryan. He must appear on the next Raw show and relinquish the belts. This is the right thing for Bryan to do. He had a true WrestleMania moment this year when he won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. His subsequent reign has been weakened ...

History Shows Bray Wyatt Will Be a Top Babyface for WWE

Posted by Justin LaBar On May - 24 - 2014
History will repeat itself, and Bray Wyatt will go down as one of the best babyfaces of all time. When booked as a heel, a wrestler can do his or her job well. However, it's inevitable that a dark character eventually steps into the light of being a crowd favorite. We saw it with Mankind, one of the most unique characters ever in WWE when he debuted in 1996. The way he looked, the way he walked, the way he talked, the way he squealed—it was memorable and fitting for a heel. We got Boiler Room Brawl matches and Buried Alive matches. ...

WWE Week in Review, May 24: Luke Harper and Cesaro Impress, Bo Dallas Debuts

Posted by Graham GSM Matthews On May - 24 - 2014
WWE traveled across the pond to England once again this past week to film its weekly programming. From the debut of a new Superstar to the return of Hulk Hogan, it was a fun seven days in WWE that will not soon be forgotten. The ruthless rivalry between The Shield and Evolution was taken to new heights on Raw when chaos ensued during Batista's bout against Seth Rollins. With The Shield hotter than ever before, could the trio be closing in on a second victory over Evolution at Payback? John Cena looked to exact revenge on The Wyatt Family during Raw this ...
