Paige vs. Nikki Bella Announced for WWE Fast Lane 2015 PPV

Posted by Joseph Zucker On January - 29 - 2015
After not putting her title on the line at the 2015 Royal Rumble, Nikki Bella will defend the WWE Divas Championship at Fast Lane. WWE announced on Thursday night that her opponent will be Paige for the Feb. 22 pay-per-view: Paige has been feuding with the Bella Twins for the last month and change and partnered with Natalya in what was a tag team defeat at the Royal Rumble. On SmackDown, the Bellas took the rivalry to the next level, insulting and then attacking Paige during a backstage interview. Scott Fishman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel was a bit disappointed that WWE ...

WWE SmackDown: Live Results, Reaction and Analysis for January 29

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On January - 29 - 2015
Welcome to Bleacher Report's coverage for the live episode of SmackDown airing Jan. 29. Due to the severe weather in the Northeast, both Raw and the scheduled SD taping ended up being cancelled. Raw was replaced by a series of interviews and replays from the Royal Rumble, but SmackDown will go on as a live broadcast at its scheduled time. Since we didn't get to see a real show on Monday, SmackDown should be filled with most of what we would have seen the night after the Rumble. The one big thing we witnessed during Raw was a face-to-face confrontation between WWE world ...

Ranking the 7 Greatest 1st Editions of WWE Pay-Per-Views

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On January - 29 - 2015
Survivor Series is one of the few WWE pay-per-views that shined in its first showing. Will Fast Lane, the newest addition to the calendar, do the same? WrestleMania eventually became an entertainment giant, but it began with a show rife with forgettable matches. Short bouts and an overload of filler made the first edition of the event one that fans look back on today out of curiosity, not in search of greatness. Survivor Series, Vengeance and Money in the Bank, on the other hand, thrived in their premieres. The initial editions of those three pay-per-views are all worth rewatching, boasting classics on ...

WWE Fast Lane 2015: Handicapping Most Likely Swerves at Event

Posted by Donald Wood On January - 29 - 2015
The lack of a full episode of Raw has left the WWE Universe uncertain as to what the future holds for the company, but it is clear that the focus has already shifted to February’s Fast Lane pay-per-view. The 2015 Royal Rumble was one of the wildest events in recent memory, and the controversy it caused in the wrestling world has left many fans scratching their heads. The road to WrestleMania has begun, but there are more questions than answers right now. The wide-open landscape of the current WWE lends itself to monumental swerves. Here are the most likely swerves fans will see at Fast ...
Royal Rumble outrage caused a storm on Twitter worse than the one that cancelled Raw. I held a Yes Summit to calm the nerves of those who are disappointed. Still, WWE is in for an entire WrestleMania season worth of second-guesses and criticism from its paying customers. Somehow, this seems like good news. I know, I know. WWE's decision to stick to its guns is one mired in controversy. For the second year in a row, the Royal Rumble was defined by Daniel Bryan. This is a trend WWE had to stop to regain control—even if that meant withstanding unsavory chants. This is an unpopular decision, ...

The march toward NXT Takeover on February 11 continued this week on the WWE Network, as heavyweight champion Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens met inside the squared circle for the contract signing that would make their much-anticipated match at the live event special official. WWE doesn't need to be creative or ingenious to figure out where to slide Daniel Bryan into the WrestleMania 31 card now that the marquee match won't include him. An excellent option is standing in plain view—pair him with Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler vs. Bryan would be a wrestling purist's dream and a battle of two of the best performers in WWE. It promises to be a fun show-stealer that would help pacify fans angry that Bryan didn't get the spot on the WrestleMania lineup that Roman Reigns currently occupies. It's a bout Ziggler himself has been pushing for. The Showoff first reached out to Bryan ...

John Cena Must Put Over Rusev at Fast Lane

Posted by Sharon Glencross On January - 29 - 2015
John Cena is heading for a showdown against Rusev at the Fast Lane pay-per-view next month—and it is imperative that the newcomer goes over in the match. The last thing WWE needs to do right now is sacrifice another rising star to Cena’s Never-Ending Push of Doom. The Nexus—2010’s top heel group—never recovered from being dismantled by the star in 2010. Considering how much potential that group had, it was heartbreaking. As one fan noted on Twitter: R-Truth and The Miz gained nothing from their (forgettable) feuds with the 12 Rounds actor. Ryback lost to him often in 2013 and was predictably demoted ...
