WWE's first pay-per-view of the year, and traditionally one of the most exciting ones, was rather interesting this time. It highlighted the expanding separation of comprehension of the product between the fans and WWE Creative. Unlike last year, this time WWE predicted the fan reaction, refused to work around it and strove to battle it head-on. In this tussle for supremacy, at the end of the day, the product will always suffer most.  WWE's master plan involving Roman Reigns' superhuman rise to stardom has been heavily implied for months. Touted as the heir to Brock Lesnar's glory, there was not an ounce ...
What WWE reportedly has in the works for Undertaker and Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 31 headlines the latest batch of rumors from the squared circle. The focus on the upcoming pay-per-view intensifies now that the Royal Rumble is over. The rumor mill is sure to pick up speed now as well. Questions swirl around The Deadman and the leader of the Yes! Movement. Will Undertaker wrestle his 23rd WrestleMana bout this March? Will Bryan get a significant match at that event? Until Bryan gets a confirmed opponent and The Undertaker emerges on Raw, expect those men to pop up in Internet rumblings again ...

Bubba Ray Dudley Discusses Possible WWE Future

Posted by Sharon Glencross On January - 27 - 2015
In one of the most noteworthy and discussed moments of the pay-per-view, Bubba Ray Dudley entered at No. 3 in WWE's annual Royal Rumble bout, eliminating R-Truth and The Miz before being tossed out of the ring by rising heel Bray Wyatt. According to reports from F4WOnline (via WrestlingInc.com), people in the company are working under the assumption that Dudley's appearance was strictly a one-off. However, the possibility that Dudley could remain with the company past the pay-per-view remains up in the air. In fact, during a post-show interview with the company's official website, the former TNA performer even hinted that he'd very much like ...
WWE will either appease Daniel Bryan fans with who it chooses to pit against him at WrestleMania 31 or amplify their post-Royal Rumble rage. A loud contingent of fans wanted Bryan in the main event, colliding with Brock Lesnar. That's not happening unless WWE rearranges the top of the card like it did last year. Should the company stick with Roman Reigns vs. Lesnar, it can't just toss Bryan another match. Finding a big enough star and a tempting enough opportunity for him is key to quelling the unrest that began with Bryan's elimination from the Rumble. The current rumored plan won't cut it. PWInsider Elite reports (h/t Wrestling ...

WWE Royal Rumble 2015: Stars Who Enhanced Their Legacy

Posted by Sharon Glencross On January - 27 - 2015
Despite its ghastly and deeply unpopular ending, WWE’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view nevertheless allowed several wrestlers on the roster to cement and enhance their legacies. In fact, a few wrestlers came out of out the show looking far better than before. Not poor Roman Reigns, of course. Truthfully, it might be better for fans to just concentrate on the performances of these men rather than dwelling on the jarring and negative aspects of the show. Let’s have a look at the performers who shone on Sunday night.    Brock Lesnar Brock Lesnar’s performance at in the Triple Threat match was absolutely fantastic. His feats of physical ...

AJ Lee vs. Stephanie McMahon Must Happen at WWE WrestleMania 31

Posted by Graham GSM Matthews On January - 27 - 2015
When it comes to booking WrestleMania, WWE's premiere pay-per-view, it's painfully apparent WWE has no long-term plan in place for anything below the main event. It appears the company will seemingly throw the undercard of the event together at the last minute, expecting the marquee matches to be the show's central attractions. As if that isn't bad enough, WWE hasn't cared enough to put together a meaningful women's match at WrestleMania in years; in fact, there wasn't one match on the WrestleMania 29 card in 2013 that featured a Diva. For the first time since the title's inception in 2008, the Divas ...

Roman Reigns Is Receiving Unfair Treatment from Flighty Fans

Posted by Chris Featherstone On January - 27 - 2015
Last year: "Yeah! Roman Reigns is the man! He should have won the Royal Rumble! I hate how the WWE buries new talent! I'm not watching anymore!" This year: "Boo! Roman Reigns sucks! He can't wrestle and has no mic work! I'm not watching anymore! #CancelWWENetwork!" The funny thing is, Reigns has gotten better in the ring and is improving his mic work. However, as most smark fans express, it is not good enough. It is not fast enough. Character development is not an option. They want something now. Interestingly enough, the past 30 years have shown us legends who had even faster ...
Roman Reigns stepped out of the debris that was the Royal Rumble match looking for a way to connect to an enraged crowd.  WWE has found one. With fans angry over the company choosing Reigns over Daniel Bryan, and the man headed for WrestleMania's main event suffering resentment, the task of getting him out of the hole Batista was in last year will be tough. Humanizing him and leaning on his respected family is a wise way to tackle that. A snowstorm gave WWE the opportunity to regroup from the storm of negativity that swirled around the Rumble. Inclement weather in the Northeast forced ...

WWE Classic of the Week: The Rock vs. Kurt Angle at No Way Out 2001

Posted by Erik Beaston On January - 27 - 2015
The main event of the No Way Out pay-per-view in February 2001 pitted The Rock against WWE champion Kurt Angle for the most prestigious prize in sports entertainment. The second half of that night's double-main event, it would determine who would head to WrestleMania X-Seven to defend the title against Royal Rumble winner "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in one of the biggest and most important matches of all time. For The Rock, the match was an opportunity to regain the title from a Superstar who defeated him the previous October for the gold. In that instance, the Olympic gold medalist had benefited ...

WWE Royal Rumble 2015 Results: Power Ranking Every Match at PPV

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On January - 27 - 2015
The WWE title bout outclassed the main event at WWE Royal Rumble 2015. Traditionally, the 30-man Battle Royal is the event's highlight, a thrilling crowning of a contender. Narrative missteps gutted that match this year, though. Even with the momentum the contest generated early, it floundered.  John Cena and Seth Rollins' pursuit of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, meanwhile, saved the show. How does the tag-team heavy undercard stack up against the Rumble? What was the night's surprise gem? To answer those questions, we'll pick apart the stories all the matches told, how well WWE built them up beforehand and break down how exciting the action ...
