WWE Raw: Potential Spoilers, Rumors, News and Preview for April 27

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On April - 27 - 2015
Controversy carries over from Extreme Rules to WWE Raw on April 27. Seth Rollins walked out of Chicago still clutching the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but he did so in a Steel Cage match where Kane interfered and Rollins used a banned move. Monday's Raw promises to address this situation and begin the early build to the next pay-per-view—Payback. One bout is already set for that event. John Cena and Rusev will go at it once more, this time in an I Quit match. The fans inside the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, will watch as WWE continues to tell the story ...

King of the Ring Return Is a Great Way to Utilise the WWE Network

Posted by Tom Beasley On April - 27 - 2015
In a series of promotional videos airing during the Extreme Rules pay-per-view, WWE announced the return of the hugely popular King of the Ring tournament. As per WWE.com, the tournament will begin on Monday night's episode of Raw, with the finals airing live on Tuesday night, exclusively on the WWE Network. Throughout April, the WWE Network has been free to new subscribers. The King of the Ring event will be the company's final attempt to sell the WWE Network to people who may have given it a try. This is a smart move from WWE and a great chance to crown a new ...
Sunday night, WWE presents its Extreme Rules pay-per-view from the AllState Arena in suburban Chicago. In the night's main event, WWE world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins defends against Randy Orton in a Steel Cage match in which The Viper's RKO is banned and The Authority's Kane serves as the guardian of the gate. John Cena will defend the United States Championship against Rusev in a Russian Chain match, a first for the pay-per-view event, while Roman Reigns looks to rebound from a disappointing conclusion to WrestleMania 31 and his match with Brock Lesnar by facing the gigantic Big Show in a Last ...
The upcoming Extreme Rules show is one like no other on the WWE calendar. With so many stipulations planned, there is the potential for some real madness and some impressive matches to be on show. Rumors are rife all over the Internet about what is going to happen at the show and even whether one of the biggest stars on the card will be able to compete. That star is Daniel Bryan, who suffered an injury on the company's recent European tour and was even sent home from that particular trip.   Rumors have been rife since then about whether Bryan is going to ...
WWE started its post-WrestleMania programming lull early this year, with a distinctly lackluster build to the Extreme Rules pay-per-view event this Sunday. However, several matches on the PPV card could deliver more than their build suggests. Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper is one of the bouts with the potential to steal the show. With the Lunatic Fringe seeking revenge for taking a brutal powerbomb through a ladder at WrestleMania, the two men will battle in a Chicago Street Fight. There will be no disqualifications, no countouts and very little in the way of rules. Ambrose and Harper are two of the WWE performers ...

WWE Missed Opportunities: Ryback vs. Rusev Feud Should Have Meant More

Posted by Travis Wakeman On April - 25 - 2015
Rusev has been embroiled in a feud with the top WWE Superstar of the last decade, John Cena, for months. This has included several battles over the United States title, with another to come this Sunday at Extreme Rules. However, just prior to getting locked into a program with Cena, Rusev had many run-ins with Ryback, and it looked like the two were on a collision course for a major pay-per-view match. In fact, a match at WrestleMania wasn't out of the question, if WWE could have built the program long enough. Instead, the Ryback-Rusev feud was inexplicably dropped in order to ...

WWE Superstar of the Week for April 25

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On April - 25 - 2015
The week before a pay-per-view is always tricky. WWE has to push all the feuds that will make up the card, but it also has to make sure the regular weekly shows are more than just commercials for the upcoming event. This past week saw a few new matches added to the Extreme Rules card, some storyline development in the established feuds and a few exciting moments. As always, many different people made big impressions, but only one can be the Superstar of the Week.   Honorable Mentions: The Shield and Luke Harper Anyone who watched Thursday's SmackDown likely suffered from flashbacks of a time ...
In the storm of violence and mayhem that WWE Extreme Rules 2015 promises to be, it will be the heels who emerge from the debris with the right to boast of victory. A pack of WWE's villains are ready to rise. Sheamus' turn to the dark side has him tearing through the competition. Naomi's heel turn has her poised to be Divas champ for the first time in her career. And Seth Rollins, the company's top heel, will add another memorable bout to his growing resume. Chicago plays host to a show that should certainly be fun but will be more about ...

WWE Programming’s Best Match for Week of April 18

Posted by Brad Jones On April - 25 - 2015
While much of this week's television was in service of setting up Extreme Rules for this Sunday, there was still some satisfying in-ring action to be found in and amongst hype for the pay-per-view. Looking at the matches from a typical episode of Raw one year ago and comparing them to today, it's clear that there's been a shift in the perceived importance of television matches with some depth. There's an appetite for 10-15-minute bouts on weekly TV, and it seems that WWE are becoming more aware of that. Of course, something has to be kept in reserve for pay-per-views and the ...
