In operation since 2008, making it one of WWE's longer-running pay-per-views outside of its big four, Night of Champions is a night when plenty is expected from the company's big stars. With all five titles likely to be defended at the show, there are always opportunities for big names, plenty of drama and some standout, enjoyable matches. The previous seven editions of Night of Champions have had some great title matches featuring men who are either still with the company or have since headed to new pastures. Will Sting vs. Seth Rollins prove to be a suitable addition to the list in the ...

WWE Superstar Power Rankings for 8/31/2015

Posted by Alex Musso On August - 31 - 2015
In the aftermath of WWE SummerSlam 2015, there have been some big changes to the WWE Superstar Power Rankings. And WWE's next big event, WWE Night of Champions 2015, is already starting to take shape. There's only one match scheduled so far, but it's a big one. In fact, it's likely to be the main event. The match, of course, is WWE world heavyweight champion and WWE United States champion Seth Rollins defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Sting. Yes, that Sting. If you missed Raw, Sting made his return and, long story short, inserted himself directly into the title picture. More ...
Hulk Hogan admits he was wrong. He says his racial comments were the result of a deep-rooted "racial bias." Now, he's asking for the public's forgiveness. "Oh my gosh. Please forgive me. Please forgive me," Hogan said in an interview with ABC News' Amy Robach that aired Monday on Good Morning America (h/t Natasha Singh, via Yahoo News). "I think if you look at the whole picture of who Hulk Hogan is, you can see over all the years that there's not a racist bone in my body." WWE fired Hogan, 62, in July after he used racial slurs in a conversation with Heather Clem as ...
Zahra Schreiber, who was in WWE's developmental system, was terminated by the company after coming under fire for making Instagram posts in 2012 that prominently featured swastikas. TMZ passed along word of her dismissal, adding it was "due to inappropriate and offensive remarks." The posts have since been deleted, but Cageside Seats captured one before Schreiber took it down: Before recently debuting as a valet to Solomon Crowe at NXT house shows, Schreiber's time with WWE had been fraught with controversy. Nude photos of her sent to WWE Superstar Seth Rollins (who is now her boyfriend) were leaked on the WWE champion's Instagram and Twitter accounts in ...

Dean Ambrose Nearly Attacked by Fan During WWE SmackDown Taping

Posted by Joseph Zucker On August - 30 - 2015
Seth Rollins might want to take extra precautions. First, a fan hurled a replica Money in the Bank briefcase at Roman Reigns earlier in the month. More recently, WWE security was forced to subdue a fan who hopped the railing in an apparent attack on Dean Ambrose, per Danielle Matheson of With Spandex. Instagram user "daily_ambrollins" shared a video that was captured by a fan at the SmackDown taping in Providence, Rhode Island:   Twitter user "Carmellathan Good" believed the fan was trying to stab Ambrose with an unknown object, noting the situation could've ended much worse: The incident certainly brings to mind ...

5 Reasons Why Seth Rollins’ WWE Championship Reign Has Been a Success

Posted by Graham GSM Matthews On August - 29 - 2015
Regarded as one of WWE's most elite factions of all time, The Shield's split was only inevitable as all three of its members were ready to become breakout stars by mid-2014. While Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns undoubtedly have their supporters, Seth Rollins has become the centerpiece of WWE in the last six months. At WrestleMania 31, Rollins made history when he became the first man to successfully cash in his Money in the Bank contract on the grand stage to steal the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. In the months since, he's solidified himself as the company's top antagonist with a strong ...

The past seven days have been a good time to be a WWE fan. Last Saturday's NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn special, SummerSlam and Raw all produced some great moments. Seth Rollins vs. Sting is a feud that either could not happen or was meant to happen. Losing to Triple H at WrestleMania 31 seemed to be the end of Sting's mission to destroy The Authority and could have been the last time fans would see him opposite Hunter's forces. But Rollins' assertion that he is the greatest champion of all time was bound to draw some heat, and that could be why Sting came back. Either way, this feud is further proof of just how committed WWE is to the current champ. Sting's appearance on the August 24 edition of Monday ...

WWE Programming’s Best Matches for Week of August 22

Posted by Brad Jones On August - 29 - 2015
Last week, you voted for an entertaining tag match that pitted Kevin Owens and Sheamus against Randy Orton and Cesaro. However, it was clear that plenty of talent was being rested ahead of last weekend's massive doubleheader in New York, and there wasn't much competition. That was not the case over the past seven days. Both TakeOver and SummerSlam produced some amazing matches, making it difficult to pick just three to put in contention for match of the week. In terms of match quality, SummerSlam may even have edged out this year's WrestleMania—and that's coming just a night after a terrific TakeOver ...
