Just when it looked like it was time to give up on the Eva Marie experiment, she delivered a career-best performance on Wednesday's WWE NXT. One of the most rewarding parts of watching NXT is seeing the men and women start to pick up the art, to grow into the performers we thought they could be. Marie, who has long struggled on the mat, showed off that kind of growth on Wednesday night. Her stock shot up after a battle with Asuka in Dallas.  Scott Dawson hammered his way up the NXT rankings, too. The former tag team champ continually gives WWE officials ...

The Bullet Club, John Cena and More from the Comeback Mailbag

Posted by Alfred Konuwa On April - 28 - 2016
Raw's ratings are terrible. Per Showbuzz Daily (h/t WrestlingInc.com), the show drew record-low ratings on Monday. Right on cue, John Cena announced he will be making an early return from a rotator cuff injury that was supposed to keep him out for nine months. Cena's return at the end of May represents a light at the end of a dark tunnel for WWE. But the promotion can't waste any time in making him matter more than ever.   Hustle, Loyalty, Return? Cena announced he will return on Memorial Day, but his return cannot come a moment too soon. Raw's ratings have once again bottomed out, which ...
This Sunday at Payback, we'll see AJ Styles challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a match against Roman Reigns—and the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, will no doubt be in support of The Phenomenal One. Since The Big Dog graduated to the main roster, WWE management has been doing everything in its power to get fans behind Reigns. He was the showcase member of The Shield, and as a singles performer, he's racked up some big wins and major accomplishments in a short span of time. Now, he's at the top of the mountain. Ahead of WrestleMania, most would have ...
Both Bret Hart and Vince Russo skewered WWE's handling of Roman Reigns, blaming faulty storytelling for holding the world champion back. Each man shared on-the-mark points, but their validity is poised to fade as WWE teases a metamorphosis on the way for Reigns. The story of Reigns' rise has been marked with fan resistance and head-scratching choices from WWE Creative. So when a Hall of Famer and a former WWE writer poke holes at what the company has done with him, the appropriate response is to nod one's head. Hart's and Russo's recent comments were right on in many ways. But for how ...

WWE Payback 2016: Full Predictions for Each Champion at Event

Posted by Aaron Bower On April - 28 - 2016
As a pay-per-view that has had just three title changes in three years, WWE Payback 2016 may turn out to be a relatively quiet one for the company's champions if history is anything to go by. However, there's no reason to say 2016 may turn out completely differently, and with four of WWE's five belts on the line this Sunday, there's the possibility of some big title changes. Although WWE has consigned Kalisto's match against Ryback to the pre-show yet again, it features in our rundown of what could be in store for every champion this weekend. With the exception of The New Day, ...

WWE NXT Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from April 27

Posted by Erik Beaston On April - 28 - 2016
Samoa Joe's crowning as the new heavyweight champion turned the NXT Universe upside down last Thursday night, but for the rest of the roster, it was business as usual, as WWE's hottest brand produced a show that delivered its fair share of big winners and bigger losers. Tag teams took center stage, both scoring enhancement victories before setting their sights on each other. Only one of those dynamic duos, though, could earn winner status. The other featured one Superstar in particular who could only be considered a loser. Women's wrestling grabbed the spotlight, as Asuka battled Eva Marie in singles competition. It ...

Samoa Joe a Prime Example of How WWE NXT Can Rejuvenate Wrestling Careers

Posted by Graham GSM Matthews On April - 28 - 2016
In Lowell, Massachusetts, on April 21, Samoa Joe shocked the world when he unseated Finn Balor as WWE NXT champion at a live event. With the win, he completed a career renaissance that started with his WWE signing last May. The title victory came almost one year removed from his memorable NXT debut at TakeOver: Unstoppable. Even then, Joe had his sights set on the NXT Championship, and although it took longer than expected, he was successful in taking the title from Balor in their third one-on-one encounter. Joe's departure from TNA in early 2015 sparked speculation from fans he was headed ...
Shane McMahon is one step closer to making WWE's new era a legitimate reality. Vince McMahon will be at Payback on May 1 and will reportedly make a decision that night as to which heir will be in charge of WWE's flagship program, according to WWE.com. Monday Night Raw has become the richest prize in this storyline, and many fans are surely hoping that Shane continues to call the shots. But Stephanie McMahon is waiting in the wings. This is the angle that many have been anticipating since WrestleMania 32, one that was simply unavoidable. The Authority had been in charge of WWE ...
Samoa Joe may have defeated Finn Balor for the NXT Championship a week ago in Lowell, Massachusetts, but for the Superstars of the critically acclaimed brand, it was business as usual Wednesday night. Shinsuke Nakamura continued taking NXT by storm, battling Elias Samson in the main event. Would The King of Strong Style score another win as he maneuvers his way into heavyweight championship contention, or would The Drifter get the last laugh at the expense of general manager William Regal, beating Nakamura for his biggest victory to date? How would another oft-criticized NXT Superstar fare as Eva Marie returned to the ...

Chyna’s Death Caused by Accidental Overdose, Manager Reveals

Former WWE Superstar Chyna died of an accidental overdose on prescription drugs Ambien and Valium, according to her manager, Anthony Anzaldo. "She accidentally and unintentionally misused her legally prescribed medication over the course of 2-3 weeks.
