WWE 2K16: Features That Will Make or Break Upcoming Game

Posted by Brian Mazique On October - 25 - 2015
Visually, WWE 2K16 looks great. We're at a point in the gaming world where that's expected. It's still nice to see, but that quality moves the needle only so much in the eyes of hardcore fans. But three other elements of WWE 2K16 will determine how well the game plays and is received by fans.   Online Matchmaking In previous versions, the online matchmaking for WWE games has been hit-or-miss—or lacking rhyme and reason. "2K altered the online options offered in WWE 2K16 based on fan feedback, which will include a revised matchmaking system and other ways to play with the WWE Games community," wrote Matthew Artus ...

Rob Gronkowski Channels His Inner WWE Superstar as ‘Gronkasaurus’

Posted by Brian Mazique On August - 21 - 2015
WWE SummerSlam weekend is upon us, and there are obviously people outside of the WWE universe who are already in the spirit. Non-wrestling athletes admire the performers from the WWE and other wrestling organizations. Every once in a while, we get to see them live out their wrestling fantasies in public. The New England Patriots' Rob Gronkowski may be a new-era tight end, but he's clearly an old-school wrestling fan. In this video we pulled from BodyArmor's YouTube channel, Gronk takes it back to the 1980s in a comical tribute to a golden era of professional wrestling. The video is apparently an outtake from a larger ...
Is this the year the WWE tries to blow our minds with a bevy of twists and turns to main storylines? It would be awesome if that were the theme of WrestleMania 31. For one year, the Showcase of the Immortals could become the show where any thing could happen in almost every match. I realize that is about as likely to happen as a moonsault from the Big Show, but it would be really cool. In reality, we aren't going to see something totally unpredictable in every match, but this pay-per-view still has room for a few storyline twists. You can catch ...

A new free-to-play game for mobile devices called WWE Immortals will be released in 2015, WWE announced Thursday.      Created by the WWE and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, WWE Immortals will be available for iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and Android devices. The game is being developed by NetherRealm Studios, the group behind the successful fighting franchises Mortal Kombat and Injustice: Gods Among Us, and Phosphor Game Studios. It will feature Superstar battles in an alternate or "fantastically re-imagined WWE world." Back in November, the WWE announced its new partnership with WBIE. The agreement was originally tied to distribution of new and archived content. The partnership ...

Just when it looked like the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of WWE 2K15 wouldn't have any exclusive modes, details of the Who Got NXT mode have been revealed.  Per information provided to Bleacher Report, the mode is similar to a traditional campaign, and it centers around five high-profile current and former NXT superstars. WrestleMania 30 Predictions: Major Swerves Fans Should Look For

Posted by Brian Mazique On April - 5 - 2014
The 30th installment of WrestleMania won't be complete without a swerve or two to keep us interested. There was a time when the promotion could simply parade stars from all walks of entertainment out and delight fans. That time is gone. The WWE Universe now wants—no demands—solid in-ring action and compelling storyline twists. The ring work could be hit and miss, but fans should bank on a few twists before the night is done in New Orleans.   The Shield Breakup Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins have been the best things to happen to the WWE roster in some time. But like all good ...

WWE Royal Rumble 2014: Why It Was Smart to Bury Daniel Bryan Again

Posted by Brian Mazique On January - 28 - 2014
It's hard to keep a good man down, but sometimes it's the smartest thing to do. Fans were outraged when Daniel Bryan didn't get his number called to participate in the Royal Rumble on Sunday.  Bryan is without question the most beloved WWE Superstar in the world today. Not since Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock were in their prime have we seen a man so universally adored. As a matter of fact, the adoration for Bryan amongst the WWE Universe may have even surpassed those two legends. The man is awesome in the ring, and he has the everyman qualities that ...

The Ultimate Warrior has company in the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame class. Jake "The Snake" Roberts was named as the second member during the Monday Night Raw telecast. The induction will take place at WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans.  The event's official Twitter account was the first to broadcast it on social media. One of the greatest and most chilling heels in the history of sports entertainment will get his due. Roberts was the master of the DDT finishing move and a commanding force on the microphone. Many of the same creepily awesome vibes Bray Wyatt creates with his promos today are ...

Daniel Bryan Injury: Updates on WWE Star’s Concussion and Return

Posted by Brian Mazique On January - 14 - 2014
A short-lived heel turn couldn't slow Daniel Bryan's rise to the top of the WWE, and hopefully a reported concussion can't either. Per Richard Gray of Wrestling News World, the WWE has said that Bryan suffered a concussion during Monday night's episode of Raw. The injury seems to have taken place at the beginning of Bryan's steel cage match against the Usos. Bryan was tagging with Bray Wyatt as part of his heel turn. Though he participated in the full match, and sat triumphantly on top of the cage as he embraced the WWE universe as a babyface once again, Bryan was apparently ...
Team 3D is the best there is, the best there was and the best...wrong promotion, but you get the idea. Bully Ray and D-Von ran the gauntlet at TNA's One Night Only Tag Team Tournament in Orlando, Fla. The tournament was set up to determine the best team in the history of TNA. The masters of one of the best tag team moves ever created reigned supreme. Oh my brother, did they ever testify. The gruesome twosome defeated Austin Aries and Bobby Roode in the finals to claim the seemingly mythical, but totally real titles. The event made it through an apparent power ...
