Through the years we have witnessed several NFL players’ transitions into wrestling. Guys like Steve McMichael, Brian Pillman, Goldberg, and the great Ernie Ladd all managed to successfully cross over. However, only a few wrestlers have attempted to do the opposite. In fact, only one name comes to mind, and that name is Brock Lesnar. Even though Lesnar's head was in the right place, he was not nearly up to snuff for the NFL and was relegated to the sidelines and later released. Now, in 2013 former Tough Enough winner Andy Leavine is attempting to do what Lesnar couldn't. According to ...

WWE News: Chris Jericho’s TV Return Date Revealed

Posted by C.I.M On March - 3 - 2013
With the exception of his recent Skype interview on SmackDown, Chris Jericho has not been seen on WWE TV in weeks. Overall, this is not really surprising, as "The Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla" is simply living up to his nickname by touring with his band Fozzy.I give Jericho a ton of credit, especially considering he could have easily just came back for a Royal Rumble one off and been done. However, he, much like The Rock is taking time out of his schedule to give back to the company that made him. That said, it appears that Y2J will ...
Big news from next week’s Raw, as it appears the WWE has locked in several legendary stars for its second "Old School" themed show. This is according to Dish Network's TV guide listing (seen here), which gives a brief synopsis of next week’s show. The Guide states: WWE Old School RAW. Featuring Ric Flair, Mean Gene Okerlund, Dusty Rhodes, JR & Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Overall, I am a bit surprised that Flair is coming back for a nostalgia show. Especially considering he was just on Raw a few weeks ago essentially "passing the torch" to The Miz. In fact, after that ...

Well, it appears Glenn Beck will not be partaking in next Monday's Raw. For those of you who are unaware, the company offered Beck a chance to address the WWE Universe regarding his recent comments about the company's Tea Party-themed Zeb Colter character. Beck’s answer? “Unfortunately I am currently booked doing anything else.” Beck popped up on the WWE radar this week when he ...
This news comes as bit of a shocker.Apparently, the International Olympic Committee has opted to drop wrestling from the Olympic schedule in 2020.According to the Wall Street Journal:The IOC cut wrestling from the program for the 2020 Olympics on Tuesday, a stunning rebuke for a sport that goes back to the inaugural modern games in 1896 and has produced such champions as Russian great Alexander Karelin. While modern pentathlon was widely considered the sport most at risk, the IOC executive board surprisingly voted to remove wrestling instead from the list of 25 "core" summer sports. ...
Well, if you thought it was easy being a pro wrestler, think again.Even though the matches are scripted, there is still a physical element that is real and goes beyond anything that can be written on paper. In fact, many times, wrestlers find themselves either injured or in severe pain after they perform.Yet, for some reason, they keep getting up and coming back for more. Apparently, Zack Ryder is no different, as he was left coughing up blood after his match with Jack Swagger Monday night.Ryder took to Twitter Tuesday morning and talked about his status:Ultimately, I wonder where Swagger injured ...

WWE News: Alberto Del Rio Suspended?

Posted by C.I.M On February - 5 - 2013
As absurd as this headline sounds, it appears that SmackDown general manager Booker T has suspended both Del Rio and his personal announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez.According to WWE.com, both men will not be partaking in Friday night's SmackDown. The article states: General Manager Booker T made a startling announcement Tuesday evening that he is preventing the World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio from being part of this week’s SmackDown. “Following the incidents last Friday on SmackDown as well as this week on Raw,” Booker told WWE.com in no uncertain terms, “it is my duty as GM to suspend Alberto Del ...

WWE News: Paul Heyman and Steve Austin Trash the WWE Title

Posted by C.I.M On January - 23 - 2013
Through the years, the WWE has done their best to make its main title appealing.Overall, they have done a solid job at changing with the climate, that is, until the release of its current design "The Spinner."Let's face it, at one time this was a pretty sweet design, and with John Cena as champ, it served a purpose. However, much like Cena, the design has become a bit stale.Yet, here we are close to eight years later, and for some reason, the company continues to stand by the design. Thankfully, we live in a social media world, so fans can ...
