Random Wrestling Thoughts: Benoit Movie, Hogan’s Back, TNA, and More

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Dude On October - 7 - 2010
There is a lot going on in the world of wrestling this week, so I felt like writing one big article instead of several small ones.   Benoit Movie Someone optioned the rights to the Chris Benoit tragedy for the opportunity to make a movie or TV special at some point.  Let's get it straight, they optioned the tragedy, not Benoit's whole life. So any movie would be about the murder/suicide story and nothing else.  I personally think that not only is it too soon, way too soon, but I feel like it's in bad taste to make a movie about this. The fact of ...

WWE: Why I Just Recently Became a John Cena Fan

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Dude On October - 7 - 2010
For the better part of a decade, I have been watching John Cena wrestle in WWE.  When he first showed up, he was a generic-looking big guy. I pegged him as having the same level of success as guys like Mark Jindrak, guys who looked big but had a very limited moveset. Cena wore trunks with the hosting city's team colors to get the fans behind him, and it worked sometimes.  Then Cena changed his image to that of a rapper.  At first I kind of hated this character, but then I grew to respect what he was actually doing with it. Then Cena ...

WWE Reportedly Open To Giving Sting a Spot in the Hall of Fame

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Dude On September - 30 - 2010
Several websites have reported that sources within WWE are open to giving Sting a spot in the Hall of Fame after he retired from TNA. Despite having never worked for the company Sting is said to have an amicable relationship with Vince McMahon built on the respect they each have for each others contributions to the sport. Sting has not responded as to whether he would be open to accepting the award, but why would he refuse? Sting was a mainstay in WCW from the '80s all the way until the day the company was bought by WWE and shut down. Sting may even ...

TNA’s Tara Has Cancer Scare, Reassures Fans That She Is Okay

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Dude On September - 27 - 2010
Tara posted a blog recently that went into detail about a recent trip to the doctor. Tara noticed a bump on her thigh so she went to the doctor to see what it could be. It was apparently nothing, but the doctor noticed a mole and decided to check it. The mole came back as a form of carcinoma, the most common form of skin cancer. The doctor had cut most of it off to test it, and Tara will go back in to have the rest removed. She is in high spirits since it could have been much worse. Tara said that ...

Humor: My Rant On WWE/TNA Being Too Sexy For Television

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Dude On September - 27 - 2010
It's time for a change. We can no longer exploit people by showing off their bodies. It's unfair to them and it's not good for our children to have to watch overly sexy wrestlers. What am I talking about you may ask? I am talking about all the guys in WWE being forced to show off their bodies to the millions of horny women out there. We are not pieces of meat ladies, we are real people with feelings. Why does Cody Rhodes need to wear less in the ring than most people wear to bed? Is it so you can get ...

John Cena Has Been Listening to IWC Critics, and It Shows

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Dude On September - 27 - 2010
John Cena has never been one to let criticisms get to him, and I have always respected that about him. When he comes out to boos, he still gives it his all because he loves the business. Many, including myself, have criticized the WWE's decision to make Cena the face of the company, but now I am starting to change my mind. I will be the first to admit that Cena is nowhere near the best in the ring, but he has so many other qualities that propel him up the ladder. His mic skills are great, even if he is spouting kid-friendly ...

WWE: An Analysis Of The Randy Orton Face Turn, Should He Be a Heel Again?

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Dude On September - 27 - 2010
Randy has portrayed a heel for about 99 percent of his career. He has built his career around his heelish tactics. The problem is that when someone is a heel for so long, some people start to cheer for him anyways. The same thing happened with Steve Austin in the 90's. Austin was a full-on heel, but the WWE fans began to cheer him anyways and WWE saw the potential in a blue collar anti-hero character and went for it. Austin became hugely successful after turning babyface, but what was great about his turn was that his attitude and tactics never changed ...

WWE: Wade Barrett, Other Nexus Members that Will Remain in WWE for the Long Haul

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Dude On September - 21 - 2010
Right now, Nexus is comprised of five men: Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel, Heath Slater, Michael Tarver, and David Otunga. These men have been getting a lot of screen time on WWE TV lately. The angle is one of WWE's more successful ventures in a long time, but one has to wonder if all five men will have long careers in the WWE. I'll go through each person individually and give a prediction on their future with the company. First on the list is the leader of Nexus, Wade Barrett. Barrett has shown that not only can he hang in there with the top ...

Reactions From The Dude: WWE Monday Night Raw, September 20, 2010

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Dude On September - 21 - 2010
Last night's Raw had a lot of things I want to discuss. The most important of which is the whole Chris Jericho situation. If you do not want to read spoilers from next week's Raw taping that took place last night, then stop reading now. Next week on Raw, Chris Jericho will face Randy Orton, with Orton giving Jericho a title shot if Jericho wins the match. Next week on the show, Chris Jericho will take a punt to the head and be wheeled out on a stretcher. This is an injury angle that is either meant to give Chris ...

Breaking News: Former WWE Diva Chyna Rushed To Hospital

Posted by Chris Mueller AKA The Dude On September - 20 - 2010
It is being reported by TMZ that Chyna, known by her real name as Joanie Laurer, was rushed to the hospital today. The cause is said to be alcohol poisoning. My thoughts and prayers go out to her as I know that alcohol poisoning is something that is hard to get over and can lead to worse things. Chyna has had a history of alcohol abuse and this isn't the first time her name has appeared in headlines. The first ever women Intercontinental Champion has been having a rough few years, but recently photos surfaced of her looking happy and healthy so this ...
