WWE Divas: A Bella Is Crowned Champion and a Diva Killer Is Coming

Posted by Christi Lott On April - 15 - 2011
On Monday Night RAW this week, we got an unadvertised title match between Divas Champion Eve and Brie Bella.Yes, this match had happened a few weeks prior, but something like that never stops the WWE from repetition. The match itself was subpar at best. The Bella Twin gimmick has gotten old and tired and it amazes me that only now did Eve had the smart idea to put an X on the Bella she was actually wrestling. Perhaps if she had marked them both, the two of them together would make a semi-green Diva.Eve as champion is fine to a certain ...

WWE Wrestlemania 27: Another Disappointing PPV for the Divas

Posted by Christi Lott On April - 3 - 2011
As I sit here waiting for WrestleMania 27, only hours from now, I'm reminded once again that I will not be watching a Divas match that showcases anything good or relevant when it comes to anything related to the Divas. Once again, the WWE has shown what they really think of the Divas. Let me start out by saying that I'm not upset with the six person intergender tag we are getting, nor that Snooki is going to be in the match. There had to be someone on the card or involved in Wrestlemania that garnered mainstream media attention. It's a ...

Awesome Kong To the WWE is a Bad Idea: Why the Move is Not a Good One

Posted by Christi Lott On January - 2 - 2011
Hello all! Sorry I haven't written in forever, but my real life has been hectic and dramatic to say the least, and for a while there, there wasn't much going on to really write about. However, now it's 2011, and I've finally had the chance to make a resolution to really step up my game this year and write about women's wrestling! So, here we go: This week, we got news that Awesome Kong was heading to the WWE. While this hasn't been 100 percent confirmed, all signs point to yes. For me, however, all signs point to "Oh, no." I love ...

Goodbye Women’s and Divas Championship, Hello Unified DivasTitle

Posted by Christi Lott On September - 19 - 2010
First let me say that Divas and Knockouts competition in the WWE and TNA have left a bad taste in my mouth, and I haven't really been paying attention to competition or have wanted to write anything. I 'm not even really watching the NXT stuff much because I'm not anticipating anything happening with the winner or the other Divas. But now, onto my article. Tonight at Night of Champions the historic Women's Championship and the short lived Divas Championship will say goodbye, and for the first time in WWE history we will have a Unified Divas Title. Either Melina or Michelle McCool will walk ...

TNA Knockouts: State of Displeasure?

Posted by Christi Lott On April - 29 - 2010
With the recent announcement that Tara is on her way out of TNA, along with the departure of Awesome Kong and rumored unhappiness of Taylor Wilde, it seems that TNA is in trouble when it comes to the Knockouts. With the recent storylines involving the Tag Titles and the Knockouts Title itself, I'd say the women have something to complain about. It was not that long ago when it seemed TNA was doing something the WWE doesn't: using the girls, and using them right. It was then, as it is now, that the TNA Knockouts are a ratings draw, and are often ...

2010 WWE Diva Draft Results and Analysis

Posted by Christi Lott On April - 27 - 2010
Well, the 2010 WWE Draft is over. For me, it was a bit of a letdown overall, especially with the fact that not all the matches on the show were for draft picks, nor were they spread out over the entire show so we'd get a big shock at the end like we usually do. All in all, everyone that switched wasn't a shock. For now, lets take a look at the WWE Divas and who moved.   Kelly Kelly to Smackdown I have to say I wasn't expecting this move. She's a very popular face, and with Melina out and Eve not getting ...

Divas and Knockouts: New Month, New Champions

Posted by Christi Lott On April - 21 - 2010
Hi all! Forgive me for not writing sooner, but my mother has been having some medical issues that have kept me from pouring energy into writing. Now, on to the good stuff! First in Diva Land, recently on Monday Night RAW, Eve defeated Maryse and became the new Divas Champion. Here's my immediate response to that: huh? While I commend Eve for growing as a wrestler, that can only go so far. She truly has grown by leaps and bounds in the ring, and was making good headway on Smackdown before getting drafted. But, she's wrestled very little in that time. ...

2010 WWE Draft Preview: The Divas

Posted by Christi Lott On April - 6 - 2010
In light of the WWE's announcement on Monday Night RAW of next week being the big WWE Draft, here's my thoughts on where some of the Divas should go. Mickie James to RAW Mickie has been lost in the shuffle on Smackdown now that Beth has made a face turn and Tiffany has been brought up to wrestle. With Melina still out, RAW needs an over face to lead the way. Eve is not cutting it and Kelly Kelly has not been pushed as a contender, so Mickie is the only seemingly legit over contender. Plus, she and Maryse had a decent ...
Dear Mr. McMahon, You are a smart businessman, as evidenced by the WWE and the millions of fans it has. There are few mistakes that have been made in your illustrious career running the WWE. However, one near constant failure is in the lack of proper use of your divas. While there are great highlights in the history of women's wrestling in the WWE, they are few and far between. Yes, many of us fans are old enough to remember watching Trish Stratus' meteoric rise, Lita's insane skills, Victoria's crazy drive, and Molly Holly's incredible wrestling abilities. The Attitude/Invasion Era was ...
I had previously written an article about the Divas road to Wrestlemania 26, and how I didn't really think they'd get a spot on the card. When the match was announced on WWE.com I wish I had been right. For the Super Bowl of the WWE, maybe in wrestling itself, the Divas, who have two strong champions and an even stronger roster, got a 10 Diva tag which featured a non-Diva personality as one of the members. It was understandable that Vickie would be in the match as the storyline on Smackdown is the only storyline going on for the Divas. However, ...
