WWE Draft 2011: 10 Potential Breakout Stars

Posted by Craig Holland-Greenfield On April - 22 - 2011
As most of us know, the WWE annual draft is taking place next Monday, April 25, to be exact. There may be some surprises and according to a lot of people, some obvious moves. One move in particular people are pretty sure on is the Apex Predator Randy Orton moving to SmackDown, due to a lack of faces with the departure of Edge. The WWE youth movement has supposedly been in full effect lately, with young superstars rising up to become the future of the business. However, as we all see, the company likes to stick with their older ...

WWE: Superstars Likely to Find Themselves Fired Soon Enough

Posted by Craig Holland-Greenfield On April - 21 - 2011
Hello and welcome to my newest article where I look at and speculate as to which superstars in the WWE are likely to face the axe in the coming weeks. As is always stated, WrestleMania is at the end of one year and the beginning of the next. With the draft generally happening in April soon after, cuts are always expected. It’s no coincidence the cuts usually happen at the end of the tax year. According to numerous sources, the amount of cuts happening is expected to be between 12 and 14. With the cancellation of Superstars on WGN America ...

WWE News: John Morrison’s Further Fallout

Posted by Craig Holland-Greenfield On April - 14 - 2011
Following on from my two previous articles where I discussed the rumor that John Morrison took issue with Trish Stratus within regards to WrestleMania 27, and an interview with the woman herself, there has been further fallout from the whole torrid affair. John Morrison has a lot of talent when it comes to in-ring ability, and having watched a video of him doing parkour, I am impressed with his skill out of the ring. One thing he is not good at though is working on the mic. He always seems like he’s giving a political speech to a group of ...

WWE: Is Sin Cara a Silent Assassin or a Silent Victim?

Posted by Craig Holland-Greenfield On April - 13 - 2011
This past Monday night on Raw, Sin Cara officially had his first WWE match, and was greeted well by the crowd, some even chanting his name. However, it seems he is not going over so well with the big boss himself, Vince McMahon. With Sin Cara having botched two out of three entrances thus far, the botched ones being live, Vince is thinking of scrapping the high-risk entry altogether in favour of a less risky one, according to Wrestling Edge. My personal speculation is that if this does happen, he could jump to the apron and dive over from there into the ring. ...

WWE Raw: Apple Power, Corre United, Sin Cara and Possible Face Turns

Posted by Craig Holland-Greenfield On April - 12 - 2011
Welcome fellow Bleachers to my new article where I’ll be discussing a few things from Raw. The first thing I’m going to talk about is APPLE, the hilariously mismatched group put together by Santino Marella to combat The Corre. Now APPLE stands for Allied People Powered by Loathing Everything that you stand for. Yes, I know. It sounds completely ridiculous but it’s the kind of stuff we are accustomed to when it comes to Santino. The moment I laughed at in particular was when he added in the “that you stand for.” The team consisted of Santino, Daniel Bryan, Mark Henry and Evan Bourne, ...

Undertaker vs. Mankind 1998: No Melina vs. Alicia Fox, but It Will Have To Do

Posted by Craig Holland-Greenfield On April - 10 - 2011
For those of you who decided to watch Tough Enough last Monday, the above match will ring some bells for you. For those who didn’t, a small recap. Being placed in the bottom three in the first Tough Enough elimination, Stone Cold Steve Austin posed a question to one of the wannabes. His question was, “What’s your favourite match?” Unfortunately for Ariane Andrew, her lack of exposure to the business led her to answer Melina versus Alicia Fox. Now, as everyone else probably did, I laughed when I heard this. Surely she has seen more matches than that of two divas with sub-par wrestling ...

WWE: John Morrison Making Few Friends Backstage

Posted by Craig Holland-Greenfield On April - 7 - 2011
It appears that everyone’s favorite master of parkour is doing little in the way of making friends backstage. With a lot of people calling for John Morrison to finally receive a push to the main event, his behavior at WrestleMania 27 may very well lead to him being stuck in the lower-mid card for some time to come. According to pwtorch.com, Morrison was reportedly unhappy that Trish Stratus took away a spot at the event that could have gone to his real girlfriend Melina. “The back story behind Morrison’s awkward body language is that either he or Melina, his girlfriend, ...

WWE: Sin Cara Makes Debut and Targets US Champion

Posted by Craig Holland-Greenfield On April - 5 - 2011
This Monday night on Raw Sin Cara, formerly known a Mistico, made his long-awaited debut. Whilst many were expecting him to go to the blue brand to join fellow Mexican superstars Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio, he instead went to Raw. Months ago when Cara was signed by the WWE there was speculation as to where he would go and who his first feud would be. I even wrote an article about five people I thought he would have a good feud with. I had other superstars in my mind, but I chose the ones I thought could best bring out the ...

WWE WrestleMania 27: My First and Hopefully Not Last

Posted by Craig Holland-Greenfield On March - 31 - 2011
Back when I was in high school, my friends and I became fascinated with wrestling and the theatrics of it all. In particular, I was impressed with how these mere men could perform such risky moves and come away unscathed, and how they could captivate thousands upon thousands with simple words. With very limited access to this world, I was left to get my results from the Internet and the early morning highlight shows on weekend television. I even remember Michael Cole as a fresh faced presenter, so imagine my surprise when I saw how far he’d come. In school, ...

WWE: Highlights of the Week, March 26th

Posted by Craig Holland-Greenfield On March - 26 - 2011
I would have done these a bit sooner, but having welcomed my son into the world this past week, watching the shows has taken a backseat. So here I am with my highlights of this week.   Raw Raw once again proved to be a disappointing affair, choosing to go over things that have been said and done. HHH decided to repeat everything he said, and Cole continued to be a giant douche and bury the divas. Being such a lackluster affair, there really wasn't much competition for my favorite moment. However, I would have to say that CM Punk attacking Orton outside his tour bus, ...
