Mouthing Off: The Irony in TNA’s "Eliminate the Hate" Campaign

Posted by Frankie Gargiulo On December - 22 - 2010
One of my first articles on B/R.com was about the “Stand Up for WWE” campaign and how WWE used it during their shows. I basically expressed my feelings towards Vince and the idea of what is truly going on “behind the scenes” of WWE. After the elections ended and the “Stand Up for WWE” campaign was labeled an utter failure, a new and improved campaign was established in the wrestling world. This time from TNA, entitled “Eliminate the Hate”. This is an anti-bullying campaign directed to the public, featuring TNA talent. The campaign urges people to stop the hate directed at people who are different ...

Mouthing Off: And I Quote…"You Stink Michael Cole!"

Posted by Frankie Gargiulo On December - 21 - 2010
Is it just me or has Michael Cole overstayed his welcome as a WWE RAW commentator? Since this past summer, Cole has gone from being a “so-so” announcer on RAW, to a heel broadcaster with the Daniel Bryan storyline, then developed into the voice of the General Manager of Raw and now has developed into being the lackey for The Miz. So, what exactly is Michael Cole’s character? Plus, his flow with “The King” is off constantly. Which I believe is the reason why Vince stuck Punk as a commentator (not only due to his recovery), but to save the announce team. Punk has ...

The Top 5 Moments from the 2010 TLC PPV

Posted by Frankie Gargiulo On December - 20 - 2010
Last night's 2010 WWE TLC pay-per-view had its ups and downs. But quite frankly, I did enjoy it. My expectations as some of you might know from my past articles, have been very timid due to past WWE PPVs that occurred during the year. For example, the horrible disgrace that WAS known as Hell in a CELL. As well as the very displeasing Survivor Series; so my expectations were quite high on what WWE was going to “dish out” on a PPV. Including a PPV that has some history of being quite “hardcore” and not a PG-related show. This yet again made ...
As most of you know, this Sunday is WWE’s Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC) Pay-Per- View, which I personally don’t know if I want to attempt to watch, due to the PG rating. Why? Well mainly due to the "GAR-BAHG" that was Hell in a Cell and the refusal to show blood anymore on TV. So, I’m skipping on my monthly Pay-Per-View feelings (just know that I’m picking Miz to beat Orton) and moving on to the 2011 ROYAL RUMBLE! But, I’m not going to talk about the whole PPV just the ROYAL RUMBLE. Currently, the way I see everything finishing up at the RUMBLE ...

Jeff Hardy: A Downward Spiral Just Waiting For Its IMPACT!

Posted by Frankie Gargiulo On December - 14 - 2010
I know this is my opinion, but I’m getting quite tired of feeling sorry for Jeff Hardy! A person, who a decade ago had the upstart of one of the most promising careers in professional wrestling, is now on a downward spiral just waiting for its impact. Now, TNA Heavyweight Champion, Hardy is a painted face lunatic who now addresses himself as the “Anti-Christ” of professional wrestling. An being that this is my own opinionated entry on B/R, I’m just going to lay it on the line by saying I’m not buying into this. If you feel that this is ...

Taken: How WWE and Their Pay-Per-Views Burn a Hole In My Pocket!

Posted by Frankie Gargiulo On October - 25 - 2010
I guess this is just the wrestling fan within me; but are you tired of spending $45 bucks on a PPV that seems to really cost $20? What I’m basically trying to get too, is the fact that I’m really not getting as entertained as I used too! Which seems to be a widely favored topic amongst fans. So today, rather than speak about how much I favor one wrestler or one show over another, I'd rather just speak about the price of these ridiculous PPV’s. Personally I feel that ever since Summer Slam, the WWE gave up! We all know that ...

Shimmer Women Athletes: Who Said Guys Had To Have All The Fun?

Posted by Frankie Gargiulo On October - 20 - 2010
Amazing, talented, skilled and quite frankly sometimes better than the guys. If you follow professional wrestling like I do, you have heard the name Shimmer Women Athletes come past you, one way or another. Shimmer is by far, one of the top Independent wrestling promotions currently running in the U.S. Shimmer, which was started back in 2005, it has established itself as the place to be for female wrestling athletes. Promoted in Chicago, these women are “wrestlers;” let me state that in bold lettering: “wrestlers.” They’re not divas! They truly know how professional wrestling should be sold and performed in a ring, but this doesn’t ...

Frankie’s Top 5 Current Best Tag Teams

Posted by Frankie Gargiulo On October - 20 - 2010
I decided to take a break from writing entries and contribute to the "Ranking" section of our Wrestling page. An thinking about what I should write about; I finally came to the conclusion of doing a video slideshow on the TOP 5 current best tag teams in Pro Wrestling. Which of course will be the subject of debate amongst many people. But that's where the fun lies. So let the debating begin...*Writer's note: Team 3D will not be displayed in the top 5. Only due to the fact that they are in a completely different league then the teams chosen.**Update ...

Kings Of Wrestling: How Social Media Helped Out the Little Guy

Posted by Frankie Gargiulo On October - 20 - 2010
For those of you looking for a ROH (Ring of Honor) “Kings of Wrestling” post, I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but this is not the article you’re looking for—in fact, it’s an article dedicated to you “the fan.” But in a whole other way. As I clicked on various wrestling pages, I came across an interesting article by BR.com’s featured columnist Joe Burgett, with his take on the IWC (Internet Wrestling Community). After reading his article I was quite interested in taking the next step by addressing some of these fans that have dedicated their time using social media, toward their ...

Stand Up or Sit This One Out For WWE?

Posted by Frankie Gargiulo On October - 19 - 2010
Before I begin my article, let me first state that I hate politics. Also I find that there is no need to bring politics and the world of professional wrestling together. It’s just another form of power that someone needs that they are currently unhappy with and can’t achieve on their own.   With that said, let me express my feelings towards the current “Stand up for WWE” campaign.   Yesterday, I was informed from a good friend of mine that Vince McMahon made a video expressing his thoughts and concerns regard his wife Linda McMahon’s campaign. Within this video, he basically states the ...
