There is no doubt that The Motor City Guns are one of TNA’s most popular tag teams. Although, the team has only won the TNA World Tag Team Championship on one occasion, compared to Beer Money Inc. who have won the belts a record four times and Team 3D who have held the belts twice, MCMG have arguably carved themselves as the best tag team in TNA history. Chris Sabin made his debut in TNA in April 2003 and a month later went on to win the TNA X Division Championship.  Sabin had a strong promising start in TNA and ...

WWE: 10 Ways Monday Night Raw Has Never Been Better

Posted by Gina Geatches On March - 6 - 2012
In recent months, Raw has gone from strength to strength. The show is no longer about the same rehashed storylines week after week, but instead is actually entertaining to watch. WWE is starting to listen to their fans, and we are finally getting the chance to watch feuds that we are interested in. The product is no longer solely about entertaining the children and letting Cena be the perfect comic book hero that puts every ‘bad’ guy in WWE in their place.    Raw currently has some of the best wrestlers in the business, and they are starting to use ...

WWE: Are The Muppets Actually a Perfect Fit for WWE in 2011?

Posted by Gina Geatches On November - 12 - 2011
On the 31st edition of Raw SuperShow the Muppets guest starred. Monday Night Raw has had some random guest hosts over the years who have no interest in the wrestling business whatsoever, but having the Muppets guest star Raw seems to be that one step too far.  Business-wise it makes sense to have the Muppets on Raw due to WWE’s target audience being little children. WWE is PG and is all about the kids, and kids love the Muppets.  But from any other point of view it almost seems like a mockery to WWE.  Is WWE the real Muppets or ...

WWE SumerSlam 2011: 5 Reasons Why CM Punk Should Win WWE Championship

Posted by Gina Geatches On August - 13 - 2011
This Sunday at the biggest PPV of the summer, CM Punk, the anti-hero of WWE, faces John Cena, the superman of the younger generation, for the unified WWE Championship.  CM Punk has kept fans on the edge of their seats in recent weeks with his anti-WWE promos and John Cena, well, has been John Cena.  It all started with the promo in which CM Punk slated WWE and Vince McMahon. CM Punk echoed what many fans had felt for months. It’s not that he hates Cena, it’s just he hates that he always wins every match.  He vowed to win ...

In her first sinles match, she defeated Victoria and soon after became involved in a feud with Victoria and Natalya.Victoria was angered and confused as to why she could not defeat Brie only to find out that Brie would escape under the ring halfway through the match, and her identical twin sister Nikki Bella would replace her in the ring. WWE RAW: Where Do We Go Next With DH Smith?

Posted by Gina Geatches On March - 6 - 2011
I remember seeing DH Smith for the first time at a UK wrestling promotion with my sister. We planned to go backstage to talk to the wrestlers before the show kicked off (she was dating a wrestler at the time who was working that night) but we arrived late. When DH Smith made his entrance, my sister turned to me and said, “He just signed a contract deal with WWE, but I don’t think they will use him properly.” I could not help but sit there and wonder what the WWE creative team would do with DH Smith. His father is the ...

WWE SmackDown: Should Edge and Christian Reunite?

Posted by Gina Geatches On March - 5 - 2011
Christian returned to SmackDown this week to save Edge from a brutal beat-down by Alberto Del Rio. It's not the first time Christian has saved Edge from Del Rio: He also saved him at the PPV Elimination Chamber.   So, what does this mean? Are Edge and Christian together again?  The pair split in 2001 after months of built-up tension, and went their separate ways. Edge went on to become one of the top heels of WWE and won the WWE championship and world championship on several occasions.  Christian left WWE in 2005 for TNA and became its heavyweight champion. The company ...

WWE Wrestlemania 27: Should Triple H end The Undertakers’ mania streak?

Posted by Gina Geatches On February - 27 - 2011
The Undertaker finally returned on Raw this week after being out of action since October 15th, due to a shoulder injury.  Triple H spared no time and walked down to the ring as soon as Taker was back. The wrestlers did not need to say anything to explain what they wanted. These men want a match and they want it at Mania. Triple H’s best friend, Shawn Michaels, wrestled Taker last year at Wrestlemania and was forced to retire due to him losing the match. Triple H cannot help but feel sad and miss his best friend. So, obviously HHH ...

WWE PG Rating: Is It Just an Era or Is It Here To Stay?

Posted by Gina Geatches On February - 20 - 2011
It is no secret that the wrestling industry is not as popular as it once was.  Wrestling is not seen as cool anymore by the mass society. There are many reasons as to why the popularity has declined in professional wrestling in recent years. Most fans blame the family-friendly attitude that WWE has adapted so that they can aim their product at children.  This is otherwise known as the PG era. When most wrestling fans hear the phrase "PG era," they sigh and become disdained.  What is cool about seeing the villain’s characters becoming toned down to seem less aggressive? How ...

WWE Wrestlemania 27: Can The Rock Really Boost Sales?

Posted by Gina Geatches On February - 15 - 2011
Wrestlemania is the biggest PPV in WWE. It is and will always be the grandest stage of all. But this year some fans cannot help but feel like it’s lacking something. It just does not feel like the road to Wrestlemania has really begun. The hype and buzz is not what it used to be. Some fans are expecting it to be the least successful WrestleMania yet. Some think this is due to the card. Some argue that WWE has not tried to build the storylines enough. Maybe it could be due to the decline in the popularity of wrestling? Regardless of ...
