Welcome to another episode of the World Wrestling Newswire.  Today's introduction theme is inspired by a recent trend that is taking shape on Raw...guest hosts.  I'm completely convinced that the idea is positively stupid and just flat out doesn't work. Seth Green and ZZ Top have been recent hosts, while Shaquille O'Neal appears to be on deck. My theory is that guest hosts do not work for pro wrestling and they do not work for pro wrestling newswires.  To prove my point, I'll be naming a guest introduction host today, as the introduction has become sort of a signature characteristic of the ...

I have just received some late-breaking news this evening that Christian will be traded to Smackdown per the persistent requests of one Michael “P.S.” Hayes. Hayes has been bugging Vince for several months now to put Christian on Smackdown, as Hayes is reportedly “high” on Christian.  Upon arriving on Smackdown, Christian will interfere in a World Heavyweight title match and will then proceed to challenge…. We interrupt this regularly scheduled breaking news extravaganza designed to make Christian marks piss their pants in glee over a reality that will never come to pass to bring you some much more important news. Here now at ...

World Wrestling Newswire for 7/20: Tajiri Comes to New Japan!

Ladies and gentlemen, I come to you this week a man drowning in a sea of melancholy.  This weekend, I was forced to deal, once again, with a tragedy as death came calling once more for a real American hero.  The man I am referring to was nothing short of a legend, a man whose wisdom had no end.  Many of us referred to this man as “the most trusted man in America” and for good reason.  He was there for us during all of the wars and for just about every major crisis.  When evil attacked, you could bet your bottom ...

Several weeks ago, I finally had the opportunity to sit down and watch the Oscar-Nominated film The Wrestler. The Wrestler, which focuses on a former main event-worthy professional wrestler who fell from grace and was reduced to working for peanuts on the independent circuit, offers a dark look into the world of small-town independent professional wrestling.  The film also played to the negative publicity that has hurt the reputation of the business on the whole. The negative press coverage of the professional wrestling business by the mainstream media in the United States is both overpowering and overwhelming. Many people are actually ...
Welcome to another edition of the World Wrestling Newswire. I am, of course, your charismatic host, Jason Le Blanc. A number of you have been bombarding me with more than slightly annoying e-mails and messages asking me whether or not I saw the Brock Lesnar-Frank Mir fight on Saturday night and what I thought about what happened. I'm sick of hearing about this fight and I refuse to talk about this subject on the Newswire. That being said, today’s Newswire is going to be awesome. If you don’t like it, then you’ve got a horseshoe up your ass, and frankly I’m just ...

The First Ever World Wrestling Newswire: PWG and New Japan News

Welcome to the debut of, yet, another series for me in the Bleacher Report Pro Wrestling Section, “The World Wrestling Newswire.” Several times a week, I’ll be taking a look at what’s going on in the world of professional wrestling. Pay extra attention to the word “world.” The time has come for the Bleacher Report pro wrestling section to expand its coverage of the pro wrestling business. You see, when I say I’ll be taking a look at what’s going on in the world of professional wrestling, I don’t just mean the WWE or TNA.  I’m talking about the actual pro ...
