Sting vs. Hulk Hogan, Plus the 5 Things Learned After April 25 Impact!

Posted by Richard Corey On April - 30 - 2013
What a night of TNA Impact! Wrestling.Broadcasting live from Indiana, Penn., there was a lot that happened. We had Aces and Eights running amok, as they are wont to do; we had a surprisingly good Knockouts match between veteran Tara and newcomer Taryn Terrell; we had an incredible TNA Tag Team Championship match between champs Chavo and Hernandez and the Dirty Heels, Austin Aries and Bobby Roode; and we had a decent Knockouts Championship match between champion Velvet Sky and No. 1 Contender Mickie James. We also, unfortunately, had some Hulking up. We had the return of Sting in a final segment ...

Bully Ray and Hulk Hogan Face-Off, TNA Impact Live April 25 Preview

Posted by Richard Corey On April - 25 - 2013
Thursday night, live from the Kovalchick Complex in Indiana, Penn., TNA Impact rolls into town with the promise of an exciting and eventful show. We are still on the road to June's Slammiversary, so expect things to heat up. On tap for tonight...   Bully (c) vs. Hulk Hogan After being called out by Bully Ray and his Aces & Eights biker gang, will Hulk Hogan step into the ring and face down the biggest threat to his tenure as general manager for Impact? Will he come alone or will he bring back up? What does the Bully ultimately have in mind for the Hulkster ...
Well, that was unexpected. If you watched the Jan. 17 edition of TNA Impact!, then you know what I mean. Aside from the obligatory swerve that no one saw coming, we had a great tag match between Bad Influence and the team of TNA World Champ Jeff Hardy and James Storm. We had the furthering of the Kenny King and Christian York feud, which should have X-Division fans salivating. We had a Genesis rematch between Gail Kim and Velvet Sky, and we had the wedding of Bully Ray and Brooke Hogan. We also got a chance to see some of what the TNA and ...

Bully Ray Proposes and the Top 6 Things We Learned from Jan. 10 Impact

Posted by Richard Corey On January - 12 - 2013
Oh boy, have we got a lot to discuss following this week's TNA Impact! First things first: In his tag match with Cowboy James Storm, Jeff Hardy, along with Bobby Roode and Austin Aries, built the TNA World title feud to a fever pitch, all while selling tickets for the Genesis main event. We also had Kenny King and Zema Ion in an exciting X-Division match that was way too short. We had a decent comedy, inter-gender tag match that could have larger ramifications down the road.We had what may have been the first truly competitive and legit professional wrestling match since the 1930s. We had ...

Sting Returns and the Top 6 Things We Learned from Jan. 3 TNA Impact!

Posted by Richard Corey On January - 5 - 2013
The first Impact! of the year is behind us and we have plenty to talk about. First things first, Thursday was a very good show in my approximation. This is the type of show I've come to expect from Impact. There were great wrestling matches with incredible spots and action, funny segments, powerful figures and heroic warriors that put their all into the craft. This episode, we saw a great solo match between Frankie Kazarian and James Storm; a botch-filled match between TNA rookie Christian York and veteran Kid Kash; progression in the Matt Morgan character, as well as tag team ...

The 6 Things We Learned from Dec. 27 Impact! Wrestling

Posted by Richard Corey On December - 29 - 2012
With 2013 upon us, Impact! Wrestling's go-home edition for this year had some ups and downs. Mostly, however, it just idled in place not excelling or failing too much. There was the decent match between Samoa Joe and a faceless member of Aces and Eights; a slight advancement in the Kenny King vs. RVD storyline with the addition of Christian York; a great Divas match between Gail King and Brooke Tessmacher; a surprisingly good tag team match between champs, Chavo and Super Mex, and Bad Influence; as well as a decent, if not comical, main event between Austin Aries and Bobby Roode. There were some non-wrestling segments as ...

The Top 5 Things We Learned from This Week’s TNA Impact!

Posted by Richard Corey On December - 22 - 2012
Well, another TNA Impact Wrestling is in the bags, and I'm sure we've all taken some things away from this episode. If you haven't, don't worry; I'm more than willing to do that thinking for you. In my personal opinion, this episode could be graded as a solid B. There were some low parts but more than enough high parts to make for an entertaining two hours. This will be the first in what I'm hoping will be many articles where we focus on the things we can take away from each episode of TNA on a weekly basis. Yes, this ...

5 Things Everyone Just Has to Accept About TNA Impact

Posted by Richard Corey On November - 2 - 2012
Hi there, new TNA Impact viewer. Chances are, you started watching as a result of the rave reviews TNA's Bound for Glory series received throughout the summer.  Then the absolutely deafening buzz the company received after its nigh perfect followup pay-per-view of the same name probably sealed the deal.  You are now one of us, the many and apprehensively proud TNA fans.  Welcome to the fold. But here's the thing: There's nothing normal about TNA, as far as what you're probably accustomed to. There are some things you—and all of us for that matter—have to simply accept about TNA, things that ...

Are Aces & Eights to Blame for Austin Aries’ Title Run Flop?

Posted by Richard Corey On September - 15 - 2012
It's a hard fact to digest, but it's the truth. Austin Aries, "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived," has so far been a sub-par champion. When he first won the TNA Heavyweight Title at this year's superb PPV showing, Destination X, many thought this would be TNA's chance to further legitimize the belt. It had already become arguably the most prominent world title of the "Big 3" wrestling promotions (WWE, TNA, and ROH).  This was done by not only showcasing the world title storyline regularly as the main event, but also by the stellar booking of the previous champion, Bobby Roode, who ran through all of TNA's top stars on his way to an ...
