Big News The following article details an eyebrow-raising, coffee-spluttering, head-spinning spoiler from yesterday’s WWE Friday Night Smackdown taping. I must apologise for padding this article with a wall of unnecessary text, but seeing as many people choose to watch Smackdown without reading the spoilers beforehand, it is the least that this writer can do. Enough of the third-person talk. Let’s get down to revealing the big surprise. The World Champion Kane challenged Undertaker to a Hell in a Cell match on Smackdown. Druids came to the ring carrying a casket, and Kane had to open the casket, because all Taker/Kane feuds feature a ...

New TNA Tag Team Champions: Do They Deserve It?

Posted by Siva Prasad On July - 12 - 2010
Kevin Nash and Scott Hall will go down as two of the most laughable tag team champions in TNA history, but are the Motor City Machine Guns worthy of the titles they have finally won? Let’s break down the X Factors of being worthy champions.   Wrestling Ability: Alex Shelley’s chain wrestling skills are among the best in mainstream wrestling today. There’s also a European touch to his move set, but unlike many European grapplers, Shelley’s moves receive a more favorable response from the casual wrestling crowd. Chris Sabin is a much more hard-hitting wrestler compared to Shelley. That Hesitation Dropkick is not at all ...

Should Hulk Hogan And Ric Flair Ever Wrestle Again?

Posted by Siva Prasad On May - 31 - 2010
Ric Flair revealed earlier this week in an interview with BANG Showbiz that Hulk Hogan 's health issues at this point in time are "overwhelming" , but did mention Hogan could still return to the ring. As for himself, Flair emphatically said he would "never retire again" in an interview with Digital Spy. In the former interview, Flair said: "His heart is in the ring but he has health issues and at this point in time they are overwhelming. His back has been really bad. He's got an artificial knee, an artificial hip, which don't bother him at all. But his back is ...
The man who once said "F--k Haiti," former TNA employee Bubba the Love Sponge, might've just drawn the ire of the wrestling public once again. A caller on his radio show this week claimed to work for Spike TV before going on to say that TNA iMPACT! is Spike’s lowest-rated show (P.S.: that’s extremely far from the truth), then implied that the show might be cut from Spike's lineup. David Schwarz, vice president of communications at Spike, made the following statement to PWinsider.com in response (unedited): "I can assure you the caller was a fake and TNA iMPACT is not only among the highest rated shows with young men on Spike, ...
Hulk Hogan : “If we're (TNA ) going to war, we are going to win that. To me it's not a competition any more; this company has a better product. This company has better talent. This company produces the matches and everything that I've seen here in being around for almost a couple of months now, this company is better at everything they do. "We're just going to show we're the better company with the better product. We're not going to repeat history; we're going to make history.” So said Hogan, as he and TNA President Dixie Carter announced ...
Jim Ross : “My WWE 'talent contract' has ended after a 17+ year run with the company... Obviously, I would have liked to have had the ability to do a 'farewell broadcast' but that opportunity never occurred.” Two of many quotes from the Hall of Famer’s latest blog post, as JR addressed Internet speculation concerning his WWE future. Ross confirmed that he remains an employee of the WWE, in a talent relations capacity. While the great commentator has not directly criticised WWE for not returning him to on air action, he has hinted in recent postings about his disappointment. One reader, in ...

WWE Draft 2010 Results: Two Former World Champions Move To Raw

Posted by Siva Prasad On April - 27 - 2010
Chris Jericho to Raw Verdict:  Thumbs Up Arguably the most consistent performer in the WWE, Chris Jericho makes the move back to Raw, after spending a notable portion of 2009 on Raw, feuding with every single guest host during that time. If the rumors concerning the exit of Batista from WWE prove to be correct, Jericho would be a perfect replacement in the role of top heel on Monday nights. Not to mention, the former Y2J is able to have a good match with almost anyone on the roster, (except with Edge in a cage). For Smackdown, the move is an obvious loss, but ...
TNA upped its game to a whole new level last night, in one of the best Impact episodes of all time. The big news out of last night was undoubtedly, the crowning of a new World Champion. Rob Van Dam defeated Jeff Hardy in a No. 1 contender match set up by Hulk Hogan at the beginning of the night. Not too long after that, against AJ Styles in his fourth match in 48 hours, Van Dam ended Styles’ reign as the longest reigning TNA World Champion, in style. Is RVD’s first TNA title win a good thing for TNA? Well, ...
This Sunday TNA’s all cage pay per view, Lockdown returns! On paper it looks to be a good show well worth watching, but let’s take a close look at the matches. Note: ALL matches are inside a Steel Cage.   TNA World Championship : "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero vs. "The Phenomenal" A.J. Styles (c) The former Elijah Burke has forced his way into TNA’s main event with a unique personality, huge charisma, and high-energy matches. The Pope’s Congregation would have him as their World Champion this Sunday, but two months after the Pope won the opportunity to face AJ Styles, he has not received ...

Sex Sells: TNA’s Knockouts Draw Ratings, While WWE Stumbles

Posted by Siva Prasad On April - 7 - 2010
TNA Impact scored its highest rating since March 8th, as WWE Raw fell to an all year-low.  Both were after last week’s post-Wrestlemania shows, and resulted in a disastrous rating for Impact and an excellent rating for WWE, the two shows took vastly different turns once more. The sexy ladies of TNA’s Knockout division scored the highest ratings all night long, with segments featuring them garnering ratings of 0.98, 0.98 and 0.93 respectively. The show's overall rating rounded up for a 0.9. Sex sells, no doubt about it. Is this a false dawn though? Using stripteases and skimpy outfits to ...
