Ring of Honor World: Exclusive Interview with TJ Perkins

Posted by Steven Coney On March - 12 - 2011
Good evening Bleachers! I used to post on here quite regularly, but to be quite frank, I became disillusioned with some of the content we were being advised to write. Add this to the fact that both WWE and TNA no longer interest me enough to make me want to write about them. After a brief break from writing, I decided that I should start my own website. So I did. I started a website dedicated to the best wrestling on the planet—Ring of Honor (ROH). I started it, and just a month later, ROH World already secured a partnership ...

Vince Russo – The Most Misunderstood Man in Professional Wrestling

Posted by Steven Coney On November - 25 - 2010
Vince Russo is the human equivalent of Marmite: you either love him, or you hate him. In most instances, he's hated. I was one of the people who jumped on the “Vince Russo killed WCW!” bandwagon without knowing much of the detail behind it. I have since read both Eric Bischoff's Controversy Creates Ca$h and more recently, Vince Russo's very own Rope Opera: How WCW Killed Vince Russo and my opinion has changed. Many people reading this will have either given up or will be thinking “There's no way I'm changing my mind on that guy!” Russo doesn't help himself, just look at the title ...

Pro Wrestling and WWE in particular have been no strangers to the dreaded mug shot.I'm not sure if it's the same with everybody, but wrestlers always seem to look stupidly funny in them. The most recent wrestler to suffer the embarrassment of the mug shot is Alex Riley. Granted, it wasn't that bad, but even the best of these look awful.I decided to dig deep and find the 10 best (or should it be worst) mug shots from wrestlers past and present.Enjoy!Begin Slideshow

Wade Barrett has been a huge hit since his arrival into the WWE. He was a part of the hugely successful first season of NXT and was the eventful winner. The Englishman definitely shows some qualities he seems to have picked up by his NXT Pro, Chris Jericho. After the second season of NXT started, the first-season competitors were starting to fade into the background until they attacked Monday Night RAW. All of the rookies invaded during the John Cena vs. CM Punk main event and they wrecked the whole set. Most of those rookies would then go on to form a ...

TNA Turning Point: A Detailed Look at Tonight’s Show

Posted by Steven Coney On November - 7 - 2010
TNA Wrestling presents Turning Point tonight, one month after its biggest pay-per-view event ever. There are eight matches on the card, and it looks like it has the ingredients to be a pretty decent show. This is the first PPV since Bound for Glory, and TNA will be looking to build on the hype surrounding that event. iMPACT! ratings have gone down since Bound for Glory except for the week directly afterwards, where they gained their best-ever rating—a 1.41. So with that in mind, tonight's show is a pretty important one for TNA. Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan ...
2010 has been a fairly sparse year for title changes, especially the WWE Championship.Sheamus entered the year as champion but lost the title to John Cena at Elimination Chamber. However, just after the match had finished, Mr. McMahon demanded that the newly crowned champion would face Batista. Batista subsequently won the gold marking one of the shortest title reigns in history.Cena defeated Batista for the title at WrestleMania and also won the rematch at Extreme Rules in a Last Man Standing match. At the Fatal-4-Way PPV, Sheamus regained the WWE Championship after pinning Cena following interference fom The Nexus.Current champion ...

Brock Lesnar and the WWE: What His Return Would Mean to Wrestling

Posted by Steven Coney On November - 1 - 2010
Brock Lesnar was expected to retain his UFC Heavyweight Championship at UFC 121 last weekend, but the Minnesota native was beaten by challenger Cain Velasquez. Another man who was involved in a Heavyweight Championship match was The Undertaker. "The Deadman" lost at Bragging Rights to his brother Kane in a Buried Alive match. Lesnar has been a name on the lips of many a wrestling fan over the past week. As Lesnar left the Octagon following his shock defeat to Velasquez, he and 'Taker shared a tense stare down which led Undertaker to say "Wanna do it?" He then went on to ...

Wrestling: The 10 Current Worst Themes in WWE and TNA

Posted by Steven Coney On October - 26 - 2010
In my eyes, there are three things that make a top wrestler: in-ring ability, mic skills and a good, recognizable theme.Die-hard fans will obviously recognize most, if not all, wrestler's themes but the casual fan might not. It might seem like such a small thing but I believe that all top wrestler's have a theme that you know, recognize and that fits the wrestler's gimmick well.In this slideshow, I mention ten current themes that I don't like. Your opinion may be different and if there are any others that you think should have made the cut then please don't hesitate ...

WWE Bragging Rights Results: 10 Things We Learned from Kane’s Win

Posted by Steven Coney On October - 24 - 2010
Four months ago, Undertaker was said to have been found in a "vegetative" state by his brother. "The Big Red Monster" vowed to find out who had put his brother, The Undertaker, out of action. Kane won the World Heavyweight Championship, his first, at Money in the Bank, defeating Rey Mysterio.Undertaker returned at SummerSlam to confront Kane and Mysterio, and he was welcomed by a tombstone piledriver from his brother, thus confirming that Kane had in fact put his own brother on the shelf.Since then, the two men have been at each other's ...
