We're only a week removed from WrestleMania 27 and already the stage has been set for next year. It took just over 24 hours after the end of WrestleMania and the biggest match of the current generation was announced. On April 1, the faces of two different WWE eras will face off for the first time in history. It's the match that the world has been waiting for, John Cena vs. The Rock. There isn't much to say about this match-up that hasn't already been said. WWE fans were expecting this match to happen much sooner, as Cena and The Rock ...

WWE WrestleMania 27 Odds: A Match-by-Match Breakdown

Posted by Tc Vreeland On April - 2 - 2011
Many people are saying that this year's WrestleMania card is one of the weakest in recent years.  While I probably wouldn't argue with anyone on that matter, I still feel that most people are overlooking what is even more important than the structure of the card: the outcome. I've always felt that trying to predict each match and playing through possible outcomes was more fun than just anxiously waiting for WrestleMania to come.  There's an added level of importance that is placed on WrestleMania that you don't get with most of the other Pay-Per-Views. What happens at 'Mania can make or break superstars, change ...
The Valentine's Day edition of Monday Night Raw has come and passed, and while the most talked about event of the night unquestionably was the return of "The People's Champ" The Rock, WWE continued along with its former No. 1 attention grabber, the "2-21-11" promos. The third installment of these mysterious vignettes seemed to be the most blatant and obvious one yet.  While the first two created the idea that The Undertaker would be retuning on February 21, the third finally gave us a glimpse at the man who will be appearing at the Savemart Center. Or did it? Millions of people watched ...
Last Monday night we were again given a look at a promo hyping the date, 2-21-11. This date marks the night after the Elimination Chamber and the first of six Monday Night Raw's that will lead from Pay-Per-View to Wrestlemania. Now, as I suspected and stated in my last article, this promo was slightly different than the first one we saw. Instead of seeing the dark, trench coat wearing figure walk toward the old western style building, we see him standing in the doorway briefly, appearing and disappearing like an apparition. We are also treated to a new shot of the ...
I think that it would be safe to say that the "2-21-11" promo that ran on last Monday's Raw has stirred up quite a bit of noise over the past few days. Online talk and other rumors continue to put the focus on both The Undertaker and Sting as the two most possible superstars that could make their appearance on February 21st, the night after Elimination Chamber.  While I feel that both superstars could easily fit the "2-21-11" promo and I would not be shocked to see either appear in just over two weeks, we must step back and look at ...

TNA Wrestling Breaking News: iMPACT Moving Back To Thursdays

Posted by Tc Vreeland On May - 3 - 2010
Earlier today, TNA president Dixie Carter posted the following message on her Facebook page: TNA will make a major announcement during tonight's TNA iMPACT! on Spike TV at 8ET/7CT. We strive to deliver what our fans want, and the next step in the evolution of the TNA brand will do just that. Ryan Clark of ewrestlingnews.com is now reporting that TNA officials announced to the wrestlers at a meeting this afternoon that iMPACT is going back to Thursday nights. While we won't know the details until tonight's live broadcast, we can speculate that this will happen. TNA's ratings have been very low and the feeling among many, ...
Earlier this morning TNA president Dixie Carter posted on her twitter that TNA will be permanently moving to 8 p.m. each Monday night, with an encore performance at their former time slot on Thursdays. From @TNADixie: "Monday Night iMPACT! moves to 8 p.m. ET start time on Spike each Monday w/an encore performance Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET. Spread the word!" This comes as no surprise as TNA managed a 0.86 rating this week at the 8-10 PM time slot, up from a 0.6 the week before, their worst rating in five years. The higher rating was helped in part by ...
Investigations into several matches at Wrestlemania have turned up interesting results. Upon further research, a team of investigators from Walla Walla, Washington discovered that the Money in the Bank, Sheamus vs. Triple H, and possibly the Bret Hart vs. Mr. McMahon matches were all played on the Smackdown vs. RAW 2010 video game and streamed as an actual match for the PPV. "I knew something was up during that Money in the Bank match," said Matt Baker, a video game specialist from Insight Industries who was one of four on the team of researchers.  "It just took Swagger way too long to unhook that ...

Rumor Report: Nasty Boys Released from TNA Wrestling

Posted by Tc Vreeland On March - 30 - 2010
Recent rumors are circulating that the Nasty Boys have been released from TNA Wrestling. Ryan Clark of ewrestlingnews.com has reported that according to the webmaster of the official website of The Honky Tonk Man, Brian Knobbs was involved in an incident at a TNA function where Spike TV executives were present. The report says that the TNA officials were very unhappy with Knobbs, thus resulting in the tag team’s release. However, The Honky Tonk Man has been the subject of several rumors that have been proven untrue, so take what comes from his mouth or website with a grain of salt. Clark has also ...

Sick of the Same Old WWE and TNA? Try Something New

Posted by Tc Vreeland On March - 29 - 2010
With all the talk about Wrestlemania, WWE vs. TNA, and rumor after rumor about which superstar will be returning, I thought it would be nice to talk about something a bit fresh. After all of the repeating comments about how the WWE is stale, TNA doesn’t know how to book, and “I hate John Cena,” I turned to look at the sources (including one of my personal favorites) of some of the most inspirational and outstanding wrestling performances as well as some solid storylines to boot; independent wrestling promotions. The independent wrestling circuit relates back to the days of territorial professional wrestling.  ...
