Alundra Blayze to Be Inducted into 2015 WWE Hall of Fame

Posted by Tim Keeney On March - 3 - 2015
Debrah Miceli, who wrestled under the ring names Alundra Blayze and Madusa, will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the 2015 class.  The company announced the news Monday night:  After the then-WWF deactivated the women's title in 1990, Blayze helped revive the division three years later when she defeated Heidi Lee Morgan to capture the belt. She subsequently served as champion for nearly a year and had three separate title reigns between 1993 and 1995. When she was released from her contract, she provided a unique moment in history when she showed up at WCW Monday Nitro and ...
With the WWE coming to the Prudential Center on Monday night, many guessed that it would mark the return of New Jersey native AJ Lee to WWE programming.  Those forecasts turned out to be true, as the 27-year-old came to the rescue of Paige, who was being attacked by the Bella Twins.  There were unfortunately some chants for CM Punk, which somewhat spoiled the big moment, but as WrestlingInc.com's Twitter feed noted, there was still a big pop from the hometown crowd nonetheless:  This is obviously an important development for the Divas division. There is talent throughout the division, but no one is ...
The WWE is shuffling its announcing teams for its two biggest programs, with the most noticeable change seeing Jerry "The King" Lawler making the permanent move from Raw to SmackDown.  News of the change was announced on WWE's official website: On Raw, Michael Cole and JBL will be joined each week by WWE Hall of Famer Booker T, while the new SmackDown announce team will consist of Cole, newcomer Byron Saxton and incomparable WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler. Cole, JBL and Lawler will continue to call the action during WWE pay-per-view events. Lawler, owner of one of the most famous voices in WWE ...
Team Cena and Team Authority won't be the only ones competing in a traditional Survivor Series match at the anticipated PPV this Sunday.   The WWE has announced that the Divas will also be part of the action. According to the company's official website, it will be Alicia Fox, Natalya, Naomi and Emma going up against Paige, Cameron, Summer Rae and Layla. It's not a booking that will likely sell many extra PPVs, but it has under-the-radar potential.Several of these ladies are quite talented inside the ring. Giving former NXT stars Paige and Emma an extended run together would likely provide some fantastic ...
Dolph Ziggler is the new Intercontinental champion. Again.  About 24 hours after losing his title at the Night of Champions PPV, "The Showoff" took it right back on Raw, defeating The Miz. He then took to Twitter to celebrate the victory: Perhaps the WWE is just padding Ziggler's Intercontinental championship stats. He won the title from Miz at SummerSlam, lost it barely over a month later and now has it back again, giving him his third career reign overall.  The hot-potato-ing of the title is a little odd, but fans will just be happy to see Ziggler once again with gold over his shoulder. ...

Ric Flair Recovering Following Successful Surgery

Posted by Tim Keeney On September - 15 - 2014
Rumors concerning the legendary Ric Flair's health have been circulating ever since he missed last week's WWE NXT Takeover event, but the WWE has officially addressed the matter. "Ric Flair is recovering from successful surgery and will miss tomorrow’s scheduled guest referee appearance at SmackDown," read the statement, via WWE.com. "Ric is doing well and we look forward to him returning to WWE in the near future."   The statement doesn't specifically say what Flair had surgery for, but according to PWInsider.com's Mike Johnson, Flair remains in a Georgia hospital after undergoing multiple minor surgeries. In addition to missing SmackDown, he will likely ...

Stephanie McMahon to Face Brie Bella at 2014 SummerSlam PPV

Posted by Tim Keeney On July - 28 - 2014
Brie Bella will make her in-ring return to WWE at SummerSlam, and she's going to do it against Stephanie McMahon.  SummerSlam's Twitter feed confirmed the news: Brie, who quit in June after McMahon threatened to strip Daniel Bryan of the WWE World Heavyweight title, returned to get her job back Monday night. She demanded a SummerSlam match with McMahon and after some reluctance from Steph, the match was finally made.  By that time, McMahon appeared to be in tears, but when Brie got close, the WWE Chief Brand Officer wailed on the Bella twin and followed it up with this line: Furthering the feud, ...
The future of TNA's Impact Wrestling is suddenly very murky. According to TMZ, Spike TV will not be renewing the popular wrestling show's contract in October.  We are still just in the rumor stages of this development, but WrestleZone.com's Mike Killam also cited sources relaying the same information. Per Killam, Impact Wrestling will be canceled if it doesn't get picked up by a new network "in a very short amount of time." This is potentially devastating news for TNA president Dixie Carter.  TNA gets a lot of flak for being a level below WWE, its rival promotion, but this is a potential fate ...
Updates from Tuesday, July 22 On the heels of CM Punk's telling interview, a report has surfaced that WWE may take action against the former super-star according to F4WOnline via Sescoops.com: While nothing is official at this point, there is at least some talk going around the company regarding a possible lawsuit against Punk for breach of contract. There aren’t a lot of specific details regarding this story as of right now, however it is known that there are many people very high up in WWE who are less than pleased with how everything went down with Punk. Original Text "Never ever. Never ever ever." ...
TNA Slammiversary came to College Park Center in Arlington, Texas, Sunday night for the 12th edition of the company's popular pay-per-view.  A change to the main event after MVP's knee injury threatened to weaken the show, but the often-criticized company responded nicely with a stacked card, a slew of in-ring talent and several memorable moments.  Let's take a look at how the show unfolded.     Ladder Match for TNA X Division Championship: Sanada (c) Defeats Manik, Tigre Uno, Crazzy Steve, Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards What a way to start the show.  There was next to zero buildup for this match, and as such, it wasn't at all ...
