TNA Hardcore Justice: Bully Ray’s Championship Mismanaged by Company

Posted by Tony Dolemite On August - 17 - 2013
Bully Ray regained the TNA World Heavyweight Championship from Chris Sabin at Impact! Wrestling's special edition of Hardcore Justice on Thursday, August 15. Since reinventing himself, Bully Ray has successfully reinvigorated his career, becoming one of the most compelling superstars in the business today. Bully Ray and the title were made for each other. That being said, it makes sense that Ray was positioned to regain the title from Sabin. He has been one of the few reasons to still continue watching Impact. As hard as I have tried, I just can't justify TNA putting the belt on Sabin in the first ...

Christian vs. Alberto Del Rio at SummerSlam: What the Heck?

Posted by Tony Dolemite On August - 17 - 2013
At SummerSlam, Alberto Del Rio will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Christian. I'll start off by saying that I respect Christian. Although I have never been a huge fan of his, I always believed that Christian was talented, in fact talented enough to become a bigger star than he has been throughout his career. Why the WWE never really got behind him like they did his best friend and former tag-team partner, Edge, is beyond me. Christian deserves better. I also respect Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio is the type of heel that fans are supposed to love to hate. ...

WWE: Darren Young on the Outs: A Fan’s 2 Cents and Then Some

Posted by Tony Dolemite On August - 17 - 2013
Making headlines this week is WWE star Darren Young admitting to TMZ that he is gay. First, I want to applaud Young for coming out. Unfortunately, we still live in a world of intolerance which takes the form of bigotry and hatred. Although our society has come a long way, there is certainly room for improvement. It takes courage to be true to one's self. That's one in the win column for you, Mr. Young. Secondly, I want to applaud the WWE stars who have been supportive since the news broke. When you spend as much time together on the road ...

Chris Sabin as the World Heavyweight Champion: A Fan’s Ramble

Posted by Tony Dolemite On July - 29 - 2013
Chris Sabin’s victory over Bully Ray for the World Heavyweight Championship at Destination X was totally unexpected. Although I have the utmost respect for Sabin, given TNA’s history, I expected him to have a great match with Ray but still come up short in his quest to become champion. After all, Bully Ray has actually breathed life back into the world title scene. It wouldn't have hurt the company if he had held onto the title a bit longer. I’ll certainly give credit where credit is due, to TNA for pulling the trigger on a Sabin title run. Keeping this in mind, I ...

WWE Style Comic-Con in the Works: Fans Can Truly Die Happy

Posted by Tony Dolemite On July - 22 - 2013
I just read on wrestlinginc.com that World Wrestling Entertainment is planning their own version of the San Diego Comic-Con International event. The idea is to have the convention take place over a period of four days in the same city as a major pay-per-view, probably WrestleMania or Summer Slam, if I were to take a guess. This would certainly be a logical step in connecting with fans of all ages who can’t get enough of WWE, the latest in pop culture and social media. A WWE themed Comic-Con would certainly expand their burgeoning universe. If anyone can host their own version of Comic-Con, ...

WWE: What Does It Take to Be a Paul Heyman Guy?

Posted by Tony Dolemite On July - 20 - 2013
Like it or not, Paul Heyman's success as a manager is undeniable. Under his watch, his clients have reached new levels of success. Brock Lesnar, Curtis Axel and CM Punk have benefited from that something special that Heyman has brought to the table, enhancing each man's reputation. It's only a matter of time before Heyman's client list grows, especially with the departure of CM Punk. Who else is worthy of being a Paul Heyman guy?   Criteria for Being a Paul Heyman Guy Below are a number of qualifications I think a wrestler should have in order to make the list based on Heyman's client ...
Bully Ray is the best thing to happen to Impact in a long time. From being a part of one of the greatest and most decorated tag teams in wrestling history to reinventing himself into a singles superstar, Ray has proven that with desire, the willingness to take chances and a little bit of creativity, if you really want something bad enough, it's there for the taking. My hat's off to you, Sir Ray, mission accomplished! As a member of Team 3-D, along with Devon, Ray carved himself a legacy as being a great tag team wrestler. That's all well and ...
My biggest gripe about the WWE is how their secondary titles, both the Intercontinental and U.S. Championships, have been treated over the last few years by the company. At one point or another, both of these titles were prestigious; they centered around compelling storylines along with superstars who were capable of great storytelling. Some superstars parlayed these championships into world titles, becoming household names, while others were able to establish their legacies as they became multiple champions on different occasions.Like anything else, both championships have seen better days. The WWE's treatment of these once glorious titles has left a bitter ...

WWE: John Cena, Welcome to Mark Henry’s Hall of Pain!

Posted by Tony Dolemite On June - 18 - 2013
Mark Henry has more in the tank after all, like it or not. That's just it. Fans didn't like it when Henry introduced John Cena to his Hall of Pain this past Raw, they loved it. They cheered!Well, that does not surprise me.Anytime John Cena gets punked the way he did, the fans go nuts. I also believe it had to do with the fact that there are a huge number of Henry fans who would love to see him win it big. In an act that will live forever in wrestling infamy, Mark Henry reestablished his dominance and became ...

WWE Should Let Dolph Ziggler Cash in for the WWE Champioship

Posted by Tony Dolemite On March - 2 - 2013
When Dolph Ziggler finally cashes in his Money in the Bank opportunity, we naturally assume that it will be for the World Heavyweight Championship. After all, he did win Smackdown's Money in the Bank competition for that opportunity. What if the WWE decided to allow Ziggler to cash in his title opportunity and challenge for the WWE Championship instead? Talk about a huge shake-up!Ziggler has to cash in his title opportunity at WrestleMania XXX. It only makes sense if he is to finally take the next step to greatness. Beyond WrestleMania, many fans will have lost interest after waiting so ...
