Posted by Travis Taylor On May - 11 - 2013
Mark Henry is taking the modern WWE bad guy and turning him into an old-school heel. From his displays of power and mocking one-liners to the sheer joy he seems to experience when squashing opponents, he's the best at what he does. By mixing elements of past great heels, Henry has been able to make himself stand out from the rest of the pack. Who would have known that the man once referred to as "Sexual Chocolate" would one day be the meanest, toughest, most no-nonsense heel on the roster? He has done it by combining different elements from wrestling's best ...
Despite two more looming surgeries, WWE legend The Undertaker has reportedly told WWE chairman Vince McMahon he will be defending his undefeated streak at WrestleMania XXX.Not only is the Phenom already looking ahead to next year, but he also has two different opponents in mind. According to a report by Nick Paglino of WrestleZone.com, Undertaker has his sights set on facing one of two multi-time WWE champions for his next WrestleMania match. The Undertaker's recent bout with Dean Ambrose on SmackDown has been confirmed as his last appearance on television for the time being. But the beating he received at the hands of The Shield has left the door open for his eventual return. According to PWInsider (h/t Lordsofpain.net), Undertaker is not scheduled for any more television time after his confrontation with Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. But the good news is Undertaker appears to be in better shape following his recent matches than he has been in the past few years. The article states:  The recent Dean Ambrose vs. The Undertaker ...

CM Punk Is More Valuable to WWE Than Brock Lesnar

Posted by Travis Taylor On May - 4 - 2013
Offering more options creatively, CM Punk is more valuable to the WWE than Brock Lesnar. Hampered by his contract and current lack of character, the former UFC heavyweight champion is nothing more than a sideshow attraction. In a company that thrives on character and story, Punk has more to give. There is only so far the WWE can push a part-time performer, even if that performer has signed a two-year agreement. The problem with Lesnar is his new contract is reportedly on par with the same conditions of his first contract. Those conditions include a very limited number of appearances. That means ...
If the rumors are true and The Undertaker does appear at Extreme Rules, his presence on the card could do several things for WWE. From propelling The Shield, to a fallout with Kane, this single pay-per-view match has the potential to create stars and feuds (h/t F4W Online via Wrestling Inc).  The Road to WrestleMania XXX could begin next month. The WWE Universe is fully aware that CM Punk will not be at the Extreme Rules PPV. Reported frustrations with creative, as well as mounting injuries, put him on the shelf for a few weeks. Punk isn't scheduled to appear ...

CM Punk Should Return to WWE as a Babyface

Posted by Travis Taylor On April - 26 - 2013
Following the dueling chants that broke out during his last appearance on Monday Night Raw, CM Punk should return to the WWE as a babyface. Channel his anger correctly and he could be a brand new version of Steve Austin. His latest run as a heel painted him as an angry coward, mad at everything the WWE and the fans were doing. Instead, he should be mad at the WWE and its reliance on part-time wrestlers.  When Punk first turned heel he had a purpose behind it. The turn was fueled, storyline-wise, by a lack of respect toward the then-WWE champion. Instead of ...

Booking The Shield After WrestleMania 29

Posted by Travis Taylor On April - 20 - 2013
The three wrestlers known as The Shield—Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns—left WrestleMania 29 with their winning streak intact. Now that the fearsome trio is wrestling more matches, where do they go after the biggest show of the year? It should come as no surprise that The Shield and Team Hell No are on another collision. Over the past two weeks, Kane and Daniel Bryan came to the aid of both The Undertaker and Triple H, who were each about to be the victims of another Shield beating. This upcoming Monday on Raw, the tag team champions will team ...

When Dolph Ziggler successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Alberto Del Rio and won the World title, he set himself in the record books. But now that he has the big gold belt around his waist, what does he do next? Ziggler has made a career out of making the other guy look good and squeaking by with a win when he can. Expect nothing different during his reign as World champion. As seen on Monday Night Raw, the World champion is headed for a Triple Threat match also involving Alberto Del Rio and Jack Swagger. ...

Ryback’s Potential Future as WWE Champion

Posted by Travis Taylor On April - 20 - 2013
When Ryback steps into the ring with John Cena at Extreme Rules, he could very well walk out as the WWE champion. But what type of success would he achieve with the gold? It depends on your definition of success.  If success means a long, drawn-out but well-defended reign like CM Punk's 434-day run, then no, it won't be a success. If Ryback takes the gold from Cena, his reign will last no longer than SummerSlam at most.  However, if success is defined as him not losing the belt back the next night or at the next pay-per-view, then yes, ...

CM Punk Is the Pure Definition of a Heel in WWE

Posted by Travis Taylor On April - 12 - 2013
CM Punk is what can only be described as the pure definition of a heel. By combining different elements of wrestling's greatest bad guys, he has created a masterpiece of a persona. Along the way he became one of the longest reigning WWE champions of all time and earned the respect of a true legend. So, what is a heel in today's WWE? The typical heel seen on weekly WWE television doesn't care about the fans and is only interested in advancing himself. Punk has taken it a step farther. He is a master at stirring up fans and getting them ...
