WWE Best of Best, Part 1 of 8: The 10 Greatest Brawlers

Posted by Dan Power On September - 3 - 2010

It is too hard to get a consensus on who is the best wrestler in WWE history (from 1982, when it became WWF). So I decided to create seven slideshows featuring six different styles and one with the women; then, to conclude the series, I will try to determine the "Top 10 Biggest WWE Stars".The following wrestlers may have some other abilities, but they are specialized in street fights, using their fists as primary weapons. ...

The 900th installment of Raw was a good show overall, with an interesting booking and promos. The matches were also actually entertaining and the results were very decent.  For such an historic episode, Raw didn't deliver as much as expected. No major surprise such as the presence of The Rock or Stone Cold; no Jim Ross at the announce table. The footage from the past episodes were nice to watch but the anniversary show deserved bigger. That being said, WWE delivered a solid and outstanding spectacle for various other reasons.    Kane Behind Nexus? It looks like Kane is the mastermind pulling The Nexus' strings.  With the ...

Raw’s 900th Episode Bombs!

Posted by John Betschel On August - 31 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
Yesterday was Raw's 900th Episode, a huge landmark in WWE history as no other weekly syndicated show in television history has gone for 900 episodes. With all the things that have happened over the last seventeen years on Raw, all the different superstars that have come and gone, you would figure they would have some of the legendary superstars from the past come and make an appearance. Oh how wrong we were. Besides having some superstars from Smackdown come over on Raw, and some clips from past shows, this episode was no different than any other. It just sort of lingered on and ...

WWE RAW 900 Comments and Questions from August 30 2010

Posted by Rob Belote On August - 31 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
It's the historic 900th edition of Monday Night RAW, and having seen probably over 95 percent of the episodes, I'm hoping that something special happens here tonight. With Smackdown in the building and Night Of Champions just a couple weeks away, this is sure to be an episode to remember one way or another. The Six-Pack Challenge for the RAW World Title has already been announced.  A 5-on-5 elimination match reminiscent of the SummerSlam main event is going to occur tonight with 5 guys from RAW (Cena, Sheamus, Edge, Jericho, Orton) and the 5 non-injured members of Nexus.  What else is in ...

WWE SMACKDOWN Review: Undertaker Will Never R.I.P.

World Heavyweight Champion Kane vs. Rey Mysterio in a No DQ Match:   The Big Red Machine choke slammed Mysterio onto a steel chair for the victory after Kane handled most of the match.   I haven’t the slightest idea how Rey Mysterio would be facing Kane in a match after losing a match clean to a newcomer. In my estimate, that would usually drop you from contention.   Alberto Del Rio confronted Mysterio after the match, later saying Mysterio looked like a “dying dog” that needed to be “put down.” Del Rio threw Mysterio into the ringside guardrail. Del Rio locked in his ...

The Push Vs. The Job: Who “Deserves” The WWE Superstar Push

To quote Lance Storm, I would like to be serious for a moment. We all have our favorite wrestlers.  We all believe our favorite wrestlers deserve to headline major pay per views and carry their company’s major championship for an unspecified period of time. Unfortunately as fans, we have no concern for the greater good as each of our likes often contradict one another and conflict with the implied intent of a particular company. For example, only in the pro wrestling universe will Matt Hardy and Bryan Danielson stand shoulder to shoulder in regards to where their careers should be going. Only in the pro ...
Tonight's RAW Main Event will be a 10 man elimination match. Randy Orton, John Cena, Chris Jericho, Sheamus, and Edge vs. The Nexus. Skip Sheffield will not be competing due to an ankle injury suffered a few weeks back. In other news Karen Angle has recently changed her name to Karen Jarrett on Twitter. Karen who is Kurt Angles former wife, filed for divorce from Kurt in 2008. Last year, reports of a relationship with Jarrett were leaked on Bubba Lovesponge's radio show. Jarrett was put on leave of absence by Dixie Carter, returning earlier this year. The two were engaged back ...

WWE RAW 900: What I Want To See

Posted by Rob Belote On August - 30 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
Tonight, WWE RAW hits a historic milestone with its 900th edition of Monday Night RAW, and because of that, I expect more from the show than we'd get on any other Monday night.  The fact that WWE is having Smackdown also show up at RAW suggests that they intend to have tonight be special as well. Here is what I want to see when I tune in tonight. No Goofy Hosts I don't care if a former wrestler hosts RAW, or if someone like "Mean Gene" Oakerland takes the job of keeping the show running, but I don't want to see any goofy ...

Randy Orton INJURED Again!

Posted by Randy Riley On August - 30 - 2010ADD COMMENTS
It seems like every month, we read about a new injury to Randy Orton. And it always seems to be a shoulder and neck issue. This time around, the story is no different. From various reports, Orton was pulled from a main event match at a house show over the weekend and inserted into a six-man tag in order to prevent him from doing much in-ring work. In fact, he was barely in the match at all. At this point, it seems like Orton's nagging shoulder problems will only be corrected by surgery and some time off. If not, this is ...
