Too Much Sizzle and Not Enough Steak: Why WWE RAW = Epic Fail

Posted by Kingly One On June - 29 - 2010
There was once upon a time when WWE RAW used to be a show that featured extraordinary wrestling and was, by all accounts, can’t-miss TV; however, the show over the years has degenerated into a sophomorically pathetic show that features such horrid writing and booking that it makes the campiest, melodramatic soap opera on the planet appear to be as intriguing and enjoyable as the latest cinematic adaptation of a Stephen King novel. Instead of being a show that focuses on wrestling like SmackDown cleverly and adroitly does, RAW tends to be a show that is crammed full of pointless segments ...

Hogan’s Abyss Push May Pay Dividends

Posted by Michael Heaver On June - 29 - 2010
As expected, Hulk Hogan has faced much criticism online since entering TNA as a creative force.  One of the biggest negatives many have cited as Hogan's limited positive impact on the organization was the repackaging of Abyss as a Hulk Hogan adoring babyface. Maybe this particular character needs to be looked at in the long term given TNA's latest TV tapings. It is not hard to see why Hogan has pushed for Abyss.  He is big, looks like a star, and more importantly, is a home grown TNA talent who can mix it with the big boys. The fact that the WWE were ...

WWE Wrestler of the 2000s: 2002

Posted by jason hamilton On June - 29 - 2010
I decided to write so soon due to my last slide being so short, so let me begin. Over the course of the next few articles, I will examine the best wrestlers of each year during the 2000s. To be eligible, you have to have won at least one world title. Eventually, I will put together a list of the top five wrestlers of the 2000s and will have a poll up where the fans will vote. Each vote will be worth one point and will be added to the respective wrestler's point total. Also, the winner of each wrestler of the year title will ...

Undertaker and Michelle McCool Married

Posted by Alec Smith On June - 29 - 2010
The rumors are true.  Taker and Michelle have officially tied the knot.  Notice that Lisa Marie Varon (Tara/Victoria) is in the photo, but not Layla.  Just a note. As seen during last week's episode of SmackDown!, Michelle McCool and Layla sat alongside Todd Grisham and Matt Striker to commentate Kelly Kelly's match against Rosa Mendes. During the bout, Striker cryptically hinted at an apparent marriage engagement while sitting next to the two Divas. "Some people like to get married in June, so if anyone's getting married congratulations to them as well," Striker said. Layla added, "Yeah, congratulations!" McCool didn't say anything. It was ...

Breaking News Regarding Wade Barrett and Drew Mcintyre

Posted by Alec Smith On June - 29 - 2010
Breaking News: Wade Barrett and Drew Mcintyre have been pulled from WWE television because both have expired work visas. Barrett has returned to the UK, and is waiting on a new visa. Mcinntyre is believed to still be in the United States.  It is interesting to note that Mcintyre's storyline is actually legitimate, and not kayfabe.  Contrary to the belief of some members of the IWC, Tiffany and Drew are not actually on their honeymoon.  If Drew doesn't return to Scotland, he could face legal issues. The Barrett storyline was that he was meeting WWE officials.  Expect a suspension angle until his visa issues are ...

Questions Stemming From the 6/28 Edition of RAW

Posted by Rob B On June - 29 - 2010
The second week of build towards the Money In The Bank pay-per-view begins with Monday Night RAW, where the World Champion is a pale redhead with huge spiky hair and the General Manager is too busy to make any more of an effort than e-mail.  The following are the questions I have stemming from the event. Think of this as part-feedback, part-humor. Headlines world wide have been generated due to the NXT "Nexus" attack on Vince McMahon?  I guess Bleacher Report IS world wide.  So...thanks Michael Cole. NXT Nexus beats up Vince McMahon (who has been hated almost his entire ...

The Nexus: Same Routine, Different Victims

Posted by Bryan Veloso On June - 28 - 2010
We came into tonight's Monday Night RAW looking for answers about last week's brutal, yet "routine" attack on the WWE Chairman. Highlighting tonight's RAW, my TV's guide told me the following: "Vince McMahon deals with the NXT 7." Writing emails at a speed we can only hope to replicate, the day's plans for the anonymous general manager's second week delayed the answers we were looking for. Wade Barrett would be given a week to make their case to the management. On a podium adorned with a the general manger's seal and a "high-on-life," glasses-wearing Michael Cole, the stipulations for the night were laid down. ...

WWE Nexus On Raw : Pathetic And Boring

Posted by Dan Power On June - 28 - 2010
I didn't think I would say this, but here I go: Enough is enough! Please WWE, stop that crap right now. It's not that I am offended to see elders attacked by young stars. We have seen it with Chris Jericho and it was not a popular angle. At least he was one against three. And now, here we go again. The Nexus attacks in the last weeks became quickly old and stale. But on the last edition of Raw, the storyline reached an unreal low. What is the point of seeing a bunch of young wrestlers attacking a group of elders? To attack a group of old-timers will ...
With the creation of WWE films a few years ago, wrestling has now been transformed from crappy segmented story lines into crappy 90 minute movies. I am not saying that all movies featuring a wrestler as the main character are terrible, but there are definitely ones that take the cake. Some are so bad that a brief description of the terribleness cannot do them justice. But I will try... Get your popcorn, have Mr. Nanny clean you a spot on the couch, and beware of mansized frogs as we take a look at 10 of the worst movies starring a wrestler.Begin Slideshow

RAW Guest Hosts: Top 10 Best, Worst of Past Year

Posted by Robert Aitken On June - 28 - 2010
This week marks the one-year anniversary of the RAW guest host concept being born. The idea has gone on with much criticism by fans. While certain weeks have brought wrestling alumni back into the ring, other weeks have brought celebrities (if you call them that) who have no place in the ring. RAW has seemed to steer clear of the guest host spot in recent weeks, lessening their role in weekly programming and, on some weeks, not having a host at all. The following is a countdown of the 10 best hosts in the last calendar year, followed by the 10 worst. Although ...
