King of the Ring 2010: The New Generation Is Well and Truly Here!

Posted by Jamie Harding On November - 28 - 2010
I recently commented on an article, criticizing its manner and attitude towards those who disagree with its author and its lack of substantiation. Having done this, I felt I should put my money where my mouth is and express some of my views. Tomorrow is the highly anticipated return of King of the Ring and I, for one, could not be happier. Whatever the outcome, I think one conclusion we can draw, even before it happens, is that WWE has one hell of a mid-card at present. Now, I am no expert on past King of the Rings, but to me, at ...

The Two Sheds Review: WWE Survivor Series

Posted by Julian Radbourne On November - 28 - 2010
So did John Cena do the right thing by Randy Orton, and sacrifice his career, or did he do the right thing by Wade Barrett, saving his career and freeing himself from the Nexus? That was what I was hoping to find out by watching this year’s Survivor Series, shown live on Sky Box Office in the early hours of this past Monday morning here in Britain. The show began with Ted DiBiase, accompanied by Maryse, challenging Daniel Bryan for the United States title.By now you should know that I’m a massive fan of the former American Dragon, which is why I ...

Squared Circle: 5 Reasons Why WWE Made Miz the Champion

Posted by Max Wake On November - 28 - 2010
I know, you lot are really getting sick of WWE Championship Miz articles. That's why I've decided to put some spin on the whole situation. Most of the articles here have been focused on why Miz should or should not be a world champion. Instead I have decided to focus on the "why."There are obvious reasons for putting the belt on him. This isn't about whether he deserves it or whether we should be burning voodoo dolls of the man, its a pure and simple analysis of reasons that could have possibly got Miz on top of the World (Wrestling ...

My Memorable Moments Through My Years As a Wrestling Fan

Posted by Anakin Cane On November - 28 - 2010
We all have our favorite memories throughout life. They can be personal as the birth of a child or a first kiss. We remember our first car. Our first job. The first time you went to the theatre or a concert. Or the great memory of accomplishment such as making an interception or hitting that first base hit. Our memories are our cherished thoughts. Things which matter to us. Others may have those same moments, but everyone has a different perspective and feelings on those memories. Not all memories are good. Some moments are too painful to be remembered. Some we are ashamed ...
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that Ahmed Gill (pictured)  will be held without bail in the DeKalb County Jail, after Judge Richard Foxworth determined that the state had sufficient evidence to hold him in custody. Gill is charged with homicide and aggravated assault in the shooting death of pro wrestler Chris Long on Sunday, Nov. 21. Judge Foxworth's' decision was rendered on Friday evening at Gill's first appearance hearing in DeKalb County Magistrate Court. A first appearance hearing is held to determine whether the state has enough evidence to keep an accused person in jail. Gill continuously maintained his innocence throughout the hearing. A second ...

Make No Miztake About It: Why The Miz Is No John Cena

Posted by Kingly One On November - 28 - 2010
In response to The Miz winning the WWE Championship and its elicitation of raucous howls of unbridled ire from the sensible members of the IWC, Mizfits have taken to using every possible argument to defend the nonsensical decision of making him a world champion. From the usual blathering of absurdities like: “Miz deserves the title because he has improved so much!” and, “Miz deserves the title because he is AWESOMEEEE on the mic,” the latest shibboleth used by Mizfits to justify his WWE title reign is, “The fact that Miz gets so much people against him means he is deserving of ...

Civil War! Analyzing the Dividing Line of the IWC and the Miz

Posted by Chris Freeman On November - 28 - 2010
Why so serious IWC? It seems ever since Monday, we have been at each other's throats over one person: The Miz. I don't have to go into details, but for those who didn't see (all 5 of you), The Miz cashed in his Money in the Bank contract against Randy Orton and became the new WWE Champion. The ticking time bomb that is the IWC immediately blew up and has been at war with itself ever since. The majority of people, especially here on B/R, have been flaming each other for liking, or hating, the Miz, while a small minority ...
If a poll was taken amongst regulars of the pro wrestling section of the Bleacher Report, asking them what the feud of the year was, chances are the top choices would include names like John Cena, the Nexus, Batista and Rey Mysterio. In the WWE, these names have been involved in the major feuds and biggest storylines of 2010. While it may seem hard to believe for some, none of those rivalries have been able to match the sheer intensity and brutality of the year-long feud between former Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions, Kevin Steen and El Generico. The once ...

WWE Bandwagoners, Hypocrites and Insult Slingers: Where Do You Fall?

Posted by Jade Jones On November - 27 - 2010
I know this topic is going to be up for some debate and I'll probably be blasted for some of what I am going to discuss but, after all, it *is* only my opinion on what I have seen flying around the internet wrestling fan community. If you're easily offended, turn away now and don't read any further. If you insist upon reading, don't blast me with your hate for what you're going to read. After all, you CHOSE to keep reading. Since I am writing mostly about Divas I will focus on them, however this could and can apply to ...

WWE King of the Ring 2010: Mirrors of the Past, Odds of the Future

Posted by Benjamin Benya On November - 27 - 2010
The WWE King of the Ring Tournament got underway this past week with eight qualifying matches to determine who will be crowned the next King in a special, three-hour edition of Monday Night RAW.It has been two years since the last King, William Regal, took the throne during a big edition of the cable television show. Regal’s victory was easily one of the most underwhelming in the history of the tournament, likely because very little came of it.After all, fans had become tempered to the idea that winning the King of the Ring Tournament would set your career soaring. It ...
