Rusev Will Regain Major Momentum as a Goon for the Authority

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On November - 24 - 2015
As The Authority's newest henchman, Rusev finds himself traded from a laughingstock team to a playoff contender. When The Bulgarian Brute returned on Monday's WWE Raw, a swift kick to Roman Reigns' jaw served as his first statement. And with that, he moves on from a hackneyed, go-nowhere feud against Dolph Ziggler to a more prominent and promising position. Rusev will go back to being a bruiser and a freight train focused on his next collision. That's great news for a heel who looked to be spiraling into comedy-wrestler territory before his biceps injury. The first Raw after Survivor Series opened with Triple H and ...

Dean Ambrose Will Benefit from Chasing WWE Championship Long-Term

Posted by Graham GSM Matthews On November - 24 - 2015
At Survivor Series on Sunday night, Dean Ambrose fell short of capturing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the finals of the tournament for the vacant title. But fans of The Lunatic Fringe need not worry; he will be champion before long, and WWE is wise to take the long-term-booking approach with him. Granted, it can seemingly be a case of officials wanting Roman Reigns as top babyface right now and neglecting Ambrose, but there was a reason why he made it as far as he did in the tourney. They obviously have faith him to be a main event player, ...

WWE Raw: Burning Questions to Address After November 23 Show

Posted by Erik Beaston On November - 24 - 2015
The Survivor Series has come and gone, and in its wake it has left WWE in a state of transition. Gone is Seth Rollins, victim of a torn MCL, ACL and medial meniscus that will keep him out of action until the New Year. Randy Orton and his occasionally dislocating shoulders are also seated on the sideline, as is John Cena, who has made the transition from WWE's resident superman to television's newest reality game show host. Realizing they are in desperate need of a lead heel to combat surging babyface Roman Reigns, the company turned to Sheamus. Yes, Sheamus. The same Sheamus who uttered ...

WWE Raw Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from November 23

Posted by Erik Beaston On November - 24 - 2015
On the heels of a newsworthy Survivor Series that saw Sheamus cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase and defeat Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, Vince McMahon and his crack staff of creative writers needed to deliver an episode of Raw that capitalized on the slight momentum the company had coming out of Sunday's WWE Network broadcast. Instead, they phoned it in, with matches that seemed to have no purpose and angles that fans could see coming from a mile away. Worst of all was the fact that they did nothing at all to convince fans to buy ...
As the dust settles from Survivor Series, we can take stock of the pivotal events that took place at the pay-per-view—particularly those centring around the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Sheamus was an outside pick to exit the event with the gold around his waist, but looking back, he shouldn't have been. It's unlikely that the Great White would have found as ideal an opportunity to cash in than on a champion who had already fought two tough matches. However, the win raises some questions as to the booking of the tournament, and indeed the show—and there are other areas of the card ...
The post-Survivor Series edition of WWE Raw took fans down a winding, dizzying, bizarre path. At times, fans had to wonder if they were having a fever dream. El Torito and John "Bradshaw" Layfield arguing over where to eat, champions riding pink unicorns and WWE's odd timing all night made for a strange show. Aside from a standout Divas Championship match and a surprise return by Rusev, Monday's Raw featured either misfires or so-so fare. There was far too much focus on country music criticism, several matches felt hurried and The New Day had one of their worst performances. It's a bad sign ...

Sheamus vs. Roman Reigns Announced for WWE TLC 2015 PPV

Posted by Joseph Zucker On November - 23 - 2015
If Roman Reigns wants to win back the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, he'll have the opportunity to do so when he takes on Sheamus on Dec. 13 at Tables, Ladders & Chairs. The Authority confirmed the match during Monday's edition of Raw, per WWE. A number of fans were underwhelmed by the finish to Survivor Series, which saw Sheamus cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase after Reigns beat Dean Ambrose in the final of the championship tournament Sunday. Although Sheamus has done little since winning the briefcase in June, giving him the title was a smart move in one specific way, per Bleacher Report's ...

WWE Raw: Live Results, Reaction and Analysis for November 23

Posted by The Doctor Chris Mueller On November - 23 - 2015
Welcome to Bleacher Report's live WWE Raw coverage for November 23. Survivor Series 2015 has come and gone, and based on reactions from social media, it wasn't an event everyone was happy with. Roman Reigns defeated Alberto Del Rio and Dean Ambrose in two separate matches to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but his reign was cut short when Sheamus cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and won the title moments later. We also saw The Undertaker and Kane vanquish The Wyatt Family, Charlotte retain her Divas Championship and Goldust return to action. Monday's Raw will feature all the fallout from Survivor ...

Sheamus Is the Prototype for a New Heel Type That Will Dominate WWE

Posted by Ryan Dilbert On November - 23 - 2015
In wrestlers like Sheamus, the evolution of the WWE heel has produced a new species—an irritant to the Internet Wrestling Community, an affront to the diehards. The new WWE world champion is part of an in-progress shift, redefining the role of the heel and the heat one generates. In an era where so many fans want to cheer the cool heels and dump on the straight-laced good guys, wrestlers like Sheamus will emerge as the new kings of villainy.   Sheamus' title reign will be the litmus test to discover just how effective this new heel trope can be, an experiment in whether ...
