WWE 2011: The Rock, John Cena, WrestleMania and a Possible Big Surprise

Posted by Rick Daniels On February - 17 - 2011
Hell, it's been a long long time since I last wrote something for you my friends, the readers of Bleacher Report. When I last wrote, Randy Orton was still WWE Champ and John Cena was part of Nexus, can you believe it? Anyways, I've got something for you guys, and possibly something big! So, let's get down to businesses, shall we? I think it's safe to say that last Monday Night Raw, or at least the ending, will never EVER be forgotten by wrestling fans. What we for so long were craving, calling for, kicking for, hell, even crying for, became a ...
The much hyped PPV Bragging Rights has come and passed, with some important questions left to be answered tomorrow night on RAW. Some things that happened weren't as great as it was expected them to be, and there were some surprises. So, let's get on with the review:   Dolph Ziggler vs Daniel Bryan (Champion vs Champion Match) One of the surprises of the night, and no doubt the best match. Ziggler and Bryan both put on excellent performances, combining high flying, technical wrestling, and some work on the mat. A crowd that was silent at the beginning was left standing on their feet, with many "This is ...

WWE 2010 Insight: Pro Wrestling Gimmicks and Popularity

Posted by Rick Daniels On October - 19 - 2010
Have you ever been curious of how a character in the pro wrestling industry clicks with the audience in a way that makes them great? Have you ever wondered why guys like The Rock, Austin, and HBK had so many people behind them, heel or face? I believe you'll find the answers here, and more about gimmicks and chemistry between character-audience. But before that, I want to make a special hiatus here to thank the person who made me come up with the idea for this article. On my last writing WWE: The Dawn Of a New Era, Its Beginning and Last Monday ...
Hello, my fellow Bleacherholics: Yesterday while I was lying on my bed trying to conceive some sleep it suddenly came through my mind how things have been changing lately in our beloved WWE.John Cena, the face of the company, is now a part of a heel stable; he's still Superman, but without the overdose of kryptonite.Randy Orton is a babyface and gets the greatest pops of the night. Sheamus has established himself as a main eventer and constant threat for the championship.Batista and HBK are gone. Cody Rhodes now is "dashing" and has a segment of grooming tips. New talent ...

WWE Hell In A Cell 2010: Review and Thoughts… And Cena Joins Nexus!

Posted by Rick Daniels On October - 4 - 2010
Hello Bleacherholics, I'm back again! I said I was neither going to watch anymore nor write more articles about WWE, but picture yourself in this situation: After a month without news, a friend of yours calls you and literally makes your ear sick with yells while trying to tell you that John Cena just joined The Nexus. I did what you would have done: I watched the PPV right away. Here we have it! The WWE Universe was begging for it, we need it like a drug, and now we have it! QUALITY! WWE has delivered us hands down the BEST PPV of the ...

WWE SummerSlam Results: The Last Review

Posted by Rick Daniels On August - 16 - 2010
DISAPPOINTING! Is the only word I have to describe the "biggest event of summer". Oh, man, I still can't believe it! I stood for what seemed like an hour after all was over with my eyes fixed on the screen, my mouth wide open, and my hands in my head like trying to pull my hair off. Last image of the day: John "f***ing coc*****er Superman Cena, and his stupid grin. BIG NO NO, BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT!!! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?? HOW COULD THEY DO, HOW COULD THEY KILL THE MOST AWESOME STORYLINE IN YEARS JUST TO GIVE MORE GLORY TO A MAN THAT ...

John Cena Set to Turn Heel at SummerSlam?

Posted by Rick Daniels On July - 21 - 2010
These past few months, the WWE Universe has been enjoying, in my opinion, the best storyline concerning a heel stable since the times of the glorious Evolution. Clearly, I'm talking about The Nexus. Them rookies of the first season of NXT, whom many thought were not to be seen again in a long time (except for Wade Barrett and Bryan Danielson), reappeared like a sweet drink for a thirsty audience after one one hour, 55 minutes of a very forgettable Viewer's Choice Monday Night Raw. They tore the ring apart, destroyed referees and announcers, and the then WWE Champion John Cena in what resembled an "Attitude Era" flashback. The reaction ...

Sheamus: Chronological Rise of the Celtic Warrior

Posted by Rick Daniels On March - 27 - 2010
June 30, 2009 (ECW) The formerly unknown wrestler first appeared on ECW. Before beginning his match he grabbed the mic and spoke a few words in a rare language, introducing himself as Sheamus—a monstrous redhead from Ireland that had "come to take ECW as his own." He went on that night to destroy a local competitor. His cocky attitude made him a heel in the eyes of the fans. In the following months he continued making appearances on the show, defeating local competitors and well-known wrestlers like Goldust and Shelton Benjamin, thus earning some reputation and hype.   Oct. 26, 2009 (RAW) Sheamus appeared on RAW for the ...
