Anyone who watched Raw tonight knows what the big story coming out of the show was. WWE's Edge, whose real name is Adam Copeland, is officially retiring effective immediately due to physical restraints.  He has been wrestling for eight straight years on a surgically repaired neck and now his time has come to step out of the squared circle before something serious happens.I am very happy that Edge is walking out his way and on his terms, but the wrestling fan in me is also asking one simple question: what happens now to the world heavyweight title? What could have been a ...

WWE: Do They Really Need a New Masked Superstar Like Sin Cara?

Posted by wes burden On March - 29 - 2011
WWE is an ever-expanding global market.  With strong ties to a worldwide audience, Vince McMahon and co. are always looking for new ways to attract viewers and media attention. One of the company’s most important target audiences is the Mexican market.  What is the best way to connect and pull in viewers of Hispanic decent and improve the product at the same time? To sign wrestling sensations from South of the Border, specifically those who wear a legendary “mask” to the ring. The question that is being asked, though, is whether or not WWE needs another masked superstar to show off ...

Dolph Ziggler: Zig-Zagging His Way to the Top of the WWE

Posted by wes burden On January - 22 - 2011
He is perfection. He has what might be the best hair in the business. He is finally getting his well deserved title shot coming up at the Royal Rumble. Who else could I be referring to other than Dolph Ziggler? He recently changed his Twitter name to @HEELZiggler, but there should be a number one placed right in front of it.  That is because Ziggler is on his way to becoming one of the top heels in the company, if not already on Smackdown, and his ascension to the top of WWE could happen sooner than later. He first appeared on our ...

Randy Orton: What Path Does "The Viper" Slither Down Next on WWE Raw?

Posted by wes burden On December - 28 - 2010
After last night's Raw, one must wonder: what is Randy Orton's destination as we head toward the Royal Rumble? Last night was the first night The Viper did not have any type of confrontation with The Miz and his WWE championship. But, instead of waiting until Royal Rumble to book Miz vs. Morrison, they have instead chosen to have their WWE title match next week on Raw. With the Royal Rumble just over a month away, does this mean there will be enough time for the master of the RKO to slither back into the championship picture? Or will he have random singles ...
As we head into Tuesday's special edition of Smackdown, every member of the IWC has one question on their mind. Who will be Edge's challenger at the Royal Rumble? Now I cannot guarantee a no. 1 contender's match tonight on Smackdown, but would like to think they want to get the ball rolling on who Edge's opponent will be. If I were booking the contender match this evening, I think I would make it a Fatal Four way between Kane, Kofi Kingston, Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio. You would get two faces and two heels, all bringing something different into the match. In the ...

WWE: Please Do Not Book The Miz Like You Did Jack Swagger

Posted by wes burden On December - 21 - 2010
This is one of my few pleads to those who run WWE: DO NOT book The Miz like you did one of the last MITB winners, Jack Swagger.I was truly excited for Swagger when he won his first championship. As it stands, he would go on to have a World Championship reign not remembered for outstanding victories but defined by numerous losses and poorly booked matches. As I watched Raw tonight, I began to think that The Miz might find himself on the same end of this type of poor booking style. He is the new WWE champion, so one thing that ...

WWE TLC Preview: Why John Morrison Should Defeat Sheamus

Posted by wes burden On December - 15 - 2010
This Sunday, John Morrison and Sheamus will do battle in a ladders match at WWE's TLC pay per view. The rivalry between these two has been brewing since the night after Bragging Rights, when Morrison helped Santino defeat Sheamus. Ever since then, these two have been at each other's throats week in and week out. Their first match was at Survivor Series, where Morrison defeated Sheamus clean with a spring kick that surprised everybody. Fast forward to the King of the Ring episode and these two met again in the finals of the tournament. Although Morrison put up a valiant effort, Sheamus ...
