As my friend Will broke a while back, Hurricane Helms asked for his release from World Wrestling Entertainment.
TMZ says the release came because of his arrest in January. But Jericho wasn't released and he was arrested with Helms, and he also the new World Heavyweight Champion, kinda weird. I kinda feel he asked for the release like Will said.
Since he worked for ECW, which was going to end, the WWE wanted to keep him on the roster at least until the show ended, in which many names from the show were set be gone.
Helms was not getting any younger and the WWE didn't need him, so a release wasn't a blow to the company.
Now it looks like he can go to TNA within 45 days since he had a veteran's deal with the WWE....
