When WWE NXT premiered on February 23, 2010, I was excited. The first season saw then-FCW wrestlers Wade Barrett (the winner), Daniel Bryan, Justin Gabriel, David Otunga (Jennifer Hudson's husband), Skip Sheffield, Heath Slater, Michael Tarver, and Darren Young. The format is simple: each Rookie is paired with a Pro and the Rookies compete in a series of matches and challenges to determine the winner. After the first season was over, the eight NXT Rookies invaded Monday Night RAW by attacking superstars, announcers, and employees as well as destroying the ring.
