Over a month ago I wrote an article stating why WWE's NXT would fail.
My argument was that the WWE's main goal when they cancelled ECW and changed to NXT was to draw higher ratings.
Throughout all of 2009, SyFy execs made it clear that they were not happy with the ratings that ECW was drawing. ECW averaged 1.0-1.4, and that was on a really, and I mean really, good night.
So NXT was the WWE's idea to increase their ratings and please the SyFy execs.
