Several times I have seen wrestling fans going on the warpath when they read wrestling is fake. They say the wrestlers take real bumps and hits or they talk about Owen Hart and Mick Foley.
Obviously, that is true; the wrestlers take countless bumps in their career. But most of the hits they receive are controlled.
The punches are fake because they are thrown with the hand open; the punches are not real punches so I dare to call it fake. The same principle applies to kicks, slams and any other hit.
Owen Hart died in a sad accident, but it has nothing to do with wrestling being fake or not. It was an accident.
