WWE News: Kaval requested his release from the WWE due to frustration over the booking of his character.
According to the Pro Wrestling torch, the WWE creative team was told to bury him after he won NXT, give him a very brief feud with Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship, then bury him yet again.
Following a 30-second loss to Drew McIntyre on the Dec. 21 episode of Smackdown, Kaval reportedly asked management if there was backstage heat on, but they said "no."
Kaval then asked if creative had any plans for him, to which they replied "no" again.
He subsequently asked for and was granted his release.
