The major difference between WWE programming and my enjoyment of it from when I was a kid until now is completely based on how believable the content is. As children, we allow ourselves to believe much more than we do as adults and the wrestling industry suffers because of that.
I grew up watching the 1980s WWF with Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior leading the way. These were two larger-than-life superstars that I believed in. Even as a kid, I knew that Skinner had no chance to beat Hogan because that's what they wanted me to believe and I could tell by looking at them.
