In the past couple of months, the upcoming schedule for the WWE pay-per-view lineup has changed a ridiculous amount of times.
On our last update, No Way Out seemed to be added to the calendar, but in July. This would have moved the Money in the Bank show up to June, replacing last year’s Capital Punishment.
Fortunately, this final change looks to be permanent, with tickets going on sale for the show in East Rutherford, NJ starting Wednesday.
According to WrestlingNewsWorld.com:
WWE No Way Out is officially returning and is expected to feature Steel Cage matches as the show’s main events.
There will be a presale to obtain tickets to WWE No Way Out from the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey beginning tomorrow at Ticketmaster.com with the password WWENEWJERSEY. The presale will end on Friday and tickets will go on sale to the general public on Saturday.
Ticketmaster confirms this story, with the show on June 17 being promoted as “WWE Presents No Way Out.” This means Money in the Bank will take place in July, just as it has in the past two years.
The concept of the main events is not very surprising. The title of No Way Out goes very well with cage matches, and, quite frankly, it should have stayed in its place for the Elimination Chamber PPV.
With the addition of this show, however, the WWE now has three pay-per-view events during the year that are dominated by some form of a cage match. Also, it all but eliminates the possibility of the return of another type of show, such as the King of the Ring.
Let’s just consider ourselves lucky that the company did not decide to call this one “WWE Steel Cage.”
